Sights & Highlights: Defender of Earth Exhibit!

06.11.2013 – The week is owned by Man of Steel with promotions from Penshoppe a retail clothing store and SM Mall of Asia which launched exclusive licensed shirts as well as having a special exhibit dubbed “Defender of Earth.”

The launch of the events was held last June 8, 2013 the previous Saturday which is an open event with no admission.

The exhibit features Superman from then and now including the current Man of Steel.

There are interactive booths as well as collectible display featured at the event is from the DC-MOTU Collectors Philippines Family comprised of Jeffrey Quillope, Totchi and Meng Pimping and Jeffrey Velsquez with his eldest son Jorelle (Jor-El feel free to geek out that his name came from the Superman movie; his father) along with them to cover the event was Jasper Lloyd Tan.

The event runs up to June 16, 2013 and it’s located at the main mall area of SM Mall of Asia. There are photos of previous actors who has donned the suit as wells as a booth that sell licensed merchandise by SM boys teens wear.

But the heart of the exhibit would probably the collections of Jeffrey Velasquez, Jeffrey Quillope, Totchi, and Meng Pimping featured the action figures which includes some key issues of some Superman titles. Though not as extensive as any other collection from previous events out there but it shows their passion for the hobby which featured also dioramas of battle scenes from comic books. Most people would look for this section though it had bad lighting but the red and blue colors of the figures would easily catch your attention to see the display.

If you have no chance to see the exhibit this week check out the images taken on the day Man of Steel had an advance press media screening courtesy of Warner Bros. Studious…

Jeffrey Velasquez and his collection can be found at Action Figure Planet a blog that features not only the toys but his other interests.

“Man of Steel” opens across the Philippines on June 12, 2013 in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D and regular theaters and is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
