Converse Wall To Wall: Chad Manzo!

11.09.2013 – When you talk about graffiti before it was known for random form of vandalism. But these days it’s more diverse with some getting into street art. In countries like Korea they have the Wall Painting Village located at Dongpirang province of Tongyeong city.

It’s a place where they rehabilitated fill of street art that changed a small village into a place of great culture.


Converse is well known for its popular sneakers in the Chuck Taylor All-Star. The company that started to produce basketball shoes has changed over the years to be diverse. The company also recognizes the street culture and has started to feature graffiti artists in their Wall To Wall series.



In the Philippines Converse has become one of the well-known shoe brands embedded in the Filipino Popular Culture. Previously they featured local comic book artists who have customized Chuck Taylors inspired from their creations.

Now Converse focuses on street art featuring Cebu-based Chad Manzo an illustrator, designer and musician in the Philippines.

Chad’s art is quirky mix of colors and style, reminiscent of late 80's, early 90's cartoons, is a strong creative force in the Philippines' blooming graphic design / art scene. His razor sharp skill-set in design has led him to work on big name projects for both local and international brands.

Armed with the knowledge and experience of over 10 years, he has been featured on numerous publications and book compilations. Most of which have lauded Chad with accolades like one of the 10 designers that move Cebu (Zee Lifestyle Magazine) and most recently, one of the 20 outstanding young designers under 40 (Bluprint Magazine).
