Five USB Storage Devices You Want to Own!

11.23.2013 – These days when you talk about storage devices the USB thumb drive is the modern “diskette”, that you carry for important documents or an assignment from school. These little things have become reliable over the years replacing writable CD-ROMs.

In age of fast moving digital storage at the palm of your hands the USB thumb drive not just your reliable storage device that carry your music, documents or school presentation. It also became part of your accessory that incorporates themes…

There have been countless USB thumb drives out there that looked cool and unique. But here are five USB thumb drives which have a tie-up to a movie or animation that might not see before.

FLYNN McMISSILE USB CARD

Every special agent has portable storage device that they keep in times of top secret missions. Finn McMissle might be carrying one in his glove compartment. This was originally released in promoting Cars 2 in 2011, which was given away for selected viewers during the special advance screening of the movie.

The Finn McMissile USB thumb drive has a storage capacity of 2GB for you to keep documents and a couple of music files. The USB thumb drive is as big as a credit card and has Finn McMissile’s image in the front with the logo of Cars 2 on the side. In the back just is all black with the black and white logo of the movie printed.

ALIEN USB STORAGE DEVICE

Shaped like the Alien from the Toy Story films this weird looking USB thumb drive looks less of the conventional one that you see. What’s so cool about this USB thumb drive is when you connect it to your computer it lights up.

There’s a red LED insides a translucent dome that flickers when you’re transferring files to the USB thumb drive. But if it’s in idle where you just attach it to the USB port it’s just light up. This was a promotional item during the release of Toy Story 3 and it was also given away during the press media screening in 2010.

The shape and color inspired from the little alien that first appeared in the original Toy Story is a spot on. You’ll always keep this little alien USB device safer than your files and it has a capacity of 2GB to have enough storage face for your documents, music and a few photos of aliens that you might have seen in the dark sky.

REEL STEEL ROBOTIC STORAGE

If you haven’t seen Real Steel then you might a rental on Netflix or buy Blu-ray edition to get an idea about the film. It stars Hugh Jackman and it was one of those non-sequel movies that became a box office hit in 2011.

When they were promoting Real Steel they had a USB thumb drive that didn’t look like the robot in the film. But you’ll get the idea since the logo of the film is there, and what’s so unique about this USB thumb drive is the shape.

The color and shape won’t give you an idea where if they didn’t put “Real Steel” in the USB thumb drive. When it was given away some thought it was a part of a robot, but knowing that the theme of the film involves machines destroying each other that was the idea in everyone’s mind.

This USB thumb drive has 2GB storage capacity enough to keep your school assignment, but not enough to put your robot parts that you need to put together after losing a fight.

SCARING 101 STORAGE HANDBOOK

When Monsters University came out a few months back most of the promotional items where either a cap that has the school’s logo. But who needs a cap when you have the Scaring 101 Handbook?

This cool nifty USB storage device carries 8GB with room for you to put probably more than your thesis report in school at the same time getting the entire soundtrack of Monsters University. The USB storage device in the form of Scaring 101 Handbook looks cool but off scale to a Revoltech action figure like Scully.

THE MJOLNIR HAMMER OF STORAGE

If you have seen some promotional items from Thor: The Dark World few would have eaten at Jollibee to get a hold of the Mjolnir USB storage device that has 1GB capacity.

The mystical hammer of Thor Odinson must be the coolest promotional item Jollibee has released. But for Walt Disney Studios who distributed the film in the Philippine they have another version of the Mjolnir USB storage device that’s definitely close to becoming the thunder god of Asgard.

This mystical hammer has enough details inspired from Thor’s Mjolnir. It has 8GB storage enough to put your files, music, and short videos but not enough to fit the nine realms in one storage device.

The hammer head where the USB port connector is hidden is made of die cast. On top of the hammer it has the engraved words that Thor is the only Asgardian to wield it. It’s detailed and has the movie’s logo engraved on the front.

It’s one of the cool promotional items that have come out recently that’s relevant tie-up to the film, and great for you to have small files that you can store.

These are rare items you won’t see being sold and mostly exclusively being given away as either a prize or a token from the movie distributor. There must be other unique storage devices out there and these are just a handful of those that you don’t see anywhere else.
