Green Lantern TAS: Beware My Power!
If you have not the series or looking forward to catching up with the new episode on Toonami Asia please turn back for potential spoilers. But for those with curiosity and wanting to more about the episode go right ahead…
What’s new to the series is that some elements are taken inspiration from the current Green Lantern comic books that viewers would be delightful to meet new characters to the ever growing mythos.
RAGING RED LANTERNS
Originally when you thought about Green Lantern the only nemesis Hal Jordan’s going to face is Sinestro powered by the Yellow Lantern. But eventually you’ll run out of bad guys to face other than the former Green Lantern who taught Hal Jordan.
The Red Lanterns makes their first TV appearance in this first episode, and they definitely are angrier than you think. They are deadlier than any shade of the color spectrum and they will kill without remorse.
LIGHT SPEED AT FRONTIER SPACE
When Abin Sur came in a space ship that he crashed to Earth and the same concept was used in the live action film. After Abin Sur passed the mantle of the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan did not need a space ship to OA.
Green Lanterns can travel in space using their power ring, but beyond the sector where OA is located there’s no other way but to use a space ship, and there was one being developed by the Guardians.
Since Hal Jordan and Kilowog needs to travel light years away they need a spaceship, and that’s where Aya an artificial intelligent computer is introduced.
BEWARE GREEN LANTERN’S MIGHT
The series has potential to be the next “Batman: The Animated Series” and its narrative would appeal to younger audiences. But parent guidance would still be advised as some characters face death like there won’t be any casualty in this episode.
Overall the voice acting and dialogue is just right any Green Lantern fan would appreciate catching this show on weekends.
