KaBOOM! Presents: Bee & PuppyCat #1

06.04.2014 – Bee and PuppyCat is a web series being shown as part of the Cartoon Hangover channel on YouTube. It’s a story about Bee, an unemployed woman in her twenties, when suddenly she encounters a mysterious creature called PuppyCat.

She adopted this weird hybrid cat-dog, and together they go on an intergalactic babysitting gig to pay her monthly rent. This popular series spins out from the KickStarter-funded animated short into a monthly comic book series published by Boom!


The series was created by Natasha Allegri who also the artist and writer for the comic book series. The first issue looks like an unknown independent comic book, but if you are not much into mainstream and in search for something fresh Bee and PuppyCat might be one of those interesting titles out there.

The first issue just like in the web series introduces Bee and sharing her story how from an unemployed woman changed her life when she met the mysterious PuppyCat. The art work jumps right at you’re the way you catch seeing the series at Cartoon Hangover.

Every page you flip over takes you to colorful palettes and how you see Allegri’s characters come to life. Now all you need is Allyn Rachel’s voice as Bee and Vocaloid program Oliver as cat-dog PuppyCat. It might now say much about the story as THIS IS “What Happened” Part One and the second issue looks promising.

The panels are big and you’ll get the feel how Allegri put her passion to her creation making this book authentic close to the 4th most popular and successful KickStarter funded film | video web series in history that’s much adored by fans all over the world.





It’s just a beginning of the comic book series if you haven’t caught up with its animated shorts on Cartoon Hangover. If you have heard about the Bravest Warriors from the creator of Adventure Time this series by Natasha Allegri will certainly get your attention for its originality and for being a unique title that you want to add in your pull list.



Overall this tells a story of simple things in a slice of life kind of comic book, which would certainly something to look forward to each month. For to those having difficulty having connected online to see it on Cartoon Hangover this is an alternative to catching up with the characters that has become popular in the internet and other social media sites all over the world.

  1. I loved the animated series of Bee & Puppy-Cat! I haven't picked up a comic book in ages and I think now would be a good time to return to the old comic store. Good stuff!
