They have these giant colourful heroes defending earth one way on another. From their campy looks of that said era to the 1980s going into the 1990s, and even in the 21sr century there’s nothing like these machines that LEGO produced as a set. |
Yes, you can say “finally” LEGO has made a “Super Robot” included into their Creator 3 in 1 subtheme range, which is not the first time to ever produced a set about a fantastical fully realized mech, They‘ve had robots going back to the Classic Space theme and rarely anyone would notice with the exception of long time AFOLs (Adult Fan of LEGO) that grew up with the brand building their own “Super Robot” creations even before this set was revealed in December 2021.
The Creator 3 in 1 theme sets let you produce three creations using the available parts of the main build, which in this case is the “Super Robot” (Set No. 31124) that became available early in March 2022. Before you know it, everyone started buying this set because for some reminded them of those classic Japanese Super Robots that’s a direct inspiration. For those not in the know, LEGO Designers George Gilliatt and James May were behind this set.

Rebuilding to Dragon Mech or Futuristic Jet
The best part of this Creator theme is the extra two options for you to re-build the “Super Robot” into a Dragon Mech of a Futuristic Jet. Of course, dismantling down the main set and turning it into another would be an interesting challenge. Unless you have the extra money to buy the same set and build a separate Dragon Mech.
This might be curious for any newbies or casual how the LEGO Designers have put this together and rebuild it into another character, The Dragon mech doesn’t much used up all the parts, but you’ll see the leftover pieces after putting this together, and this also comes with the instruction manual. The same goes with the Futuristic Jet when you rebuild it the third time.
The Dragon Mech doesn’t have much ‘wow factor’ but it was ball-jointed wings, articulated tail, and a non-threatening Dragon head. So far, the interesting build ist he Futuristic Jet complete with a functioning wing swept design reusing a pair of ball-joints that holds the wings.
Overall the Super Robot is worth picking up not only for the nostalgia that was inspired from famous Japanese Super Robots of the 1970s and 1980s, but the idea that LEGO made their own version is enough to inspire the young minds to suit their curiosity that can be something they want to take up in studying robotics.
But among the three builds it’s the Super Robot that’s the favourite followed by the Futuristic Jet, and despite not getting not much adoration for the Dragon Mech it’s still a welcome addition to see how available parts can be rebuilt into this creature.
Super Robot is part of Creator 3 in 1 theme for the 2022 year by LEGO, which is part pf their discounted Big LEGO Gifts monthly promo retailed at ₱ 500.00 (**$ 12.92 AUD | $ 9.64 USD) for this month of March that's originally priced at ₱ 699.75 (**$ 18.08 AUD | $ 13.52 USD). This was acquired at Toys R'Us in Greenbelt Mall.
