DC The New 52: Justice League #1 gets 5th Printing!

Looks like the relaunch paid off after all!

Via their own blog The Source, DC Comics has announced that Justice League #1, penned by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Jim Lee, has once again gone back to press, and will be now known as the first comic book in The New 52 line to receive five printings. With the fourth issue due just before the holidays in December, this marks a milestone event in relation to the publication's decision to relaunch their comic line, and their flagship team-up book featuring the likes of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman has done immensely well. The fifth printing of Justice League #1 will arrive in stores next year on January 4th! Be sure to reserve your copies if you haven't picked this one up yet!

Manila Auto Salon 2011: DCPH Collection Exhibit

11.24.2011 – If you happen to drop by the SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia do check out the exhibit of the local group Diecast Cars Philippines (DCPH) on display outside the Hall 3 which features them as part of Manila Auto Salon 2011: Mad About Styling and Tuning. The event begins today November 24, 2011 and runs through November 27, 2011. Not only have you seen the real life custom cars on display you get to see the diecast car collectible community participating in this event. They have been part of this auto show for the past few years.

Marvel Extreme Knapsack Giveaway!

11.23.2011 – SM Boys Teens’ Wear Department has latest promos that will your earlier Christmas treat. Besides that they also launched a new line of licensed merchandise shirts dubbed as “Marvel Extreme” which features some of Marvel’s edgier characters. The “Free Get A Knapsack” promo lets you take home a free knapsack bag for every purchase of the following character brand shirts from Marvel, Hanna-Barbera, Sponge Bob Squarepants, Transformers, and Sesame Street. This promo runs until limited supply last and it has started already in all SM Department Store outlets nationwide.

11.21.2011 - Wonder Woman fans should rejoice now that the same licensing distributor of the SM Boys & Teens' Wear Deparment has brought in shirts for Girls & Teens Wear. There's even a promo that started last October 15, 2011 and will end on December 15, 2011. The new Wonder Woman shirts makes into the mass market via the SM Girls & Teens' Wear section of SM Department store. Some notable shirt designs are striking enough to have some male interest in wanting to purchase one for their own. Unfortunately the shirts are geared to girl teens.

Timzster Reviews: Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

When Marvel Vs Capcom 3 exploded onto the console scene this year, it brought back a lot of that old school flair, nostalgia, and appeal fighting game fans were long craving for. Following the path of Street Fighter IV, it swapped two dimensional graphics in favor or a brush art styled 3D graphics engine, whilst retaining classic 2D brawl gameplay so as not to alienate veterans of the series.

Now, a new "upgrade" of the game has finally been released. Called "Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3", new characters, stages, and gameplay additions have been added to this latest entry of the VS series. It pretty much lives up to the reputation Capcom has garnered with its fighting games by rereleasing them with "updated features" and quirks. 

Coverage: Dead Zone's Zombiethon 2011!

It's November 11, 2011 (or 11-11-11 as it were), and now that I've had some time in my hands, I've finally gotten around to completing the almost 2 week old Zombiethon video compilation that I promised to deliver. In case you missed out what that was all about, here's the 101 again on what transpired!

On October 30, 2011, right in the heart of Makati City Philippines, local zombie fan group Dead Zone organized the second annual "Zombiethon" zombie walk, which was open to all undead lovers and ghoulish fans out there! Being one of those itching to go, I suited up as   the main protagonist of AMC's The Walking Dead himself, Sheriff's Deputy Rick Grimes, and proceeded to meet with the rest of the zombie trope in the meeting point located at the heart of Makati City.

While we certainly lacking in number, there were enough zombies to cause panic, terror, and havoc as we treaded in the streets. Joining me along for the fun were guys dressed as Raccoon City survivors Leon S. Kennedy and Hunk from the Resident Evil series. We even had a visit from "Hulk Hogan" himself! The zombies themselves had "interesting" faces in their numbers, including a Silent Hill-like nurse ghoul, kid zombies, and even a zombie that looked like Jesus!

Despite the minimum attendance, everything went great, and I even got to choreograph some scenes for  good photo op shots! I'd like to thank the guys at Dead Zone again for organizing Zombiethon 2011, and I'm looking forward to the next event soon! For more info on the group, visit the official Dead Zone Facebook Page!

M.A.R.S Heroes is a little known line of 4" action figures by HAP-P-Kid. These saw a limited release in the US, as well as here in the Philippines.

Tron: Legacy Toys Not Available in the Philippines!

11.03.2011 – Tron: Legacy the hit sequel to the 1980s original film by Disney has leaped and made it famous once again. The release of the film last December 2010 was clearly capped the year to end the best movies. To support the film there were several merchandises that were released namely action figures from Spin Masters. The toys released in the Philippines didn’t get off the shelves due to limited releases for Asia Pacific and Australia.

Bargain Finds: Warriors of Virtue Action Figures!

11.02.2011 – Warrior of Virtue is a 1997 Chinese-American fantasy show in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. The film about an adventure in the world with anamorphic Kangaroos battling an empire that pretty sums up what we think was critically panned out.

When the movie came out they had merchandises and action figures from Play’em LLC based in Colorado. The details of these toys are quite superb for toys that were made in the 1990s. Right now they are bargain for anyone who just wants something to play with…
