Toy Sightings: KRE-O Star Trek!

05.01.2013 – Early last year we reported that Hasbro has acquired the Star Trek license and revealed that they have plans to produce new Kre-O building toys with Korean toy maker OxFord. They are the same company who brought in Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Battleship for the Kre-O brand.

The new line was released in the Philippines over the weekend which featured the some of the familiar ships from the 2009 movie and some sets based from “Into Darkness” that are sometimes potential spoilers prior to the release of the film.

The centerpiece of this series is of course the USS Enterprise with registry number 1701 that includes five mini figures which feature Kirk, Spock and McCoy that also have two “Specialist.” There are smaller sets that does not include mini figures which are the starships currently available include the Klingon battleship and the USS Enterprise. There are also mini figure packs that you only need to complete six alien species.

The main sets are focused on the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness which will be shown on May 15, 2013 which arguably anticipated especially for the media who had a privilege to see the 34 minutes rough cut of the film. If you haven’t seen the new Kre-O Star Trek building toys see more images…
