MOTU Origins | Leech

The first word to describe the Evil Horde is that they are “Monsters” as most of the characters produced by Mattel in 1985. They’re far off from the goofy “kiddie-fied” version that appeared on Filmation’s She-Ra series. The toys were not part of the Princess of Power toy line but were released under the MOTU mainline.

Leech is one of the creatures loyal to Hordak, and one of the unique characters that stood out for the action figure’s gimmick having suction cups for hands, feet, and even for the character’s mouth. The revival of the action figure would include the same concept for the MOTU Origins, including his roots as a character.

Toys R' Us | New Location at Circuit Makati

These days, you’ll never find a toy store adding a new branch to its list in the last five years. But Toys R’ Us in the Philippines just opened a new branch at the Ayala Malls Circuit just outside the CBD at a shopping centre that used to be a horse race track that opened in 2015. The only store they had before was a TRU pop-up store.

Fast forward to December 2023, and they just recently opened an actual store replacing that eight-year-old pop-up location that will cease to exist at the end of this month. For those outside the Philippines, TRU has been consistently opened along with its other Asian counterparts since it is a franchise that operates in this country.

Vinyl On Vinyl | Unraveling Body Colonies

Sometimes the misunderstood can be overlooked to get a better perspective of what is happening in life. With art, it usually never gets the same degree of appreciation as the ones that really stand out and it is often the most challenging thing to the artist to convey their piece of narrative that doesn’t explain itself to the viewer’s reaction.

But most of the time, the art style and the way it is presented overweighs the artwork is trying to do, and in the case of this two-artist exhibition featuring EDOPOP and M.A. Roziq that are two different art styles in bringing their work in one exhibition is considered a yin and yang moment that very much explains how two opposites attract.
