| 07.08.2012 – Yesterday Comic X Hub held a mini-comic book signing for Mico Suayan which also features local indie artists Ariel Atienza, Ernest Fiestan, Allen Geneta, Carlos San Juan and Julius Villanueva.
The event started at 2pm at the Comic X Hub store a.k.a “The Warehouse” at the 3rd floor of the Bloomingdale Plaza. But Mico won’t be at the store until later in the afternoon since he came from a private event. He signed and made some sketches to the fans that came on that day. |
The local indie artists left by 5PM but Mico stayed until 7PM where he sketched on the blank covers of AvX Round 1, Astonishing X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men coming out with some great artwork.
Our fellow GeekMatic correspondent and indie artist FPJ Jr. of Krisis Komix was at the scene earlier that day who conducted an interview as well as early coverage of Mico Suayan’s comic book signing event…
In the later part of the signing we get to talk to Lawrence Sol Cruz owner and proprietor of Comic X Hub along with Mico talking about traveling to New York and other parts of North America. In that conversation Mico had mentioned that he will be present for this year’s New York Comic Con.
Most discussions was non-comics related like food and travel then shifted to the upcoming first anniversary of Comic X Hub (which we’ll give you details on that soon). If you missed Mico Suayan’s mini-comic book signing check out some photos during the tail end of the event…

Mico was graciously warm just merely talking to him about different topics aside from the usual comics discussions. Mico humbly said that he’s a fill-in on the Punishers issues #13 and 14 the rest of his projects are cover issues for Marvel.
The next convention to catch up with Mico Suayan will be at the Singapore Toys, Games, and Comics Convention happening on September 1 and 2 at the Marina Bay Sands. He will be with fellow comic book artist Stephen Segovia who will also be having a mini-comic book signing at Comic X Hub on July 28, 2012.
