Why You Should Get Trese Book of Murders!

11.17.2013 – Trese: Book of Murders collects all thirteen chapters from the first three volumes of the series. It’s the collected hardcover edition that was launch in the recent Trese Night Gallery that featured Kajo Baldisimo’s works.

The collected edition was produced by Visprint Inc., and it was limited to 2000 copies which is also available at Filbar’s.

The same book was also released at the recently concluded Komikon 2013 since the sixth book didn’t make it.

There are three reasons why this book should be on your list of graphic novels to get. It’s rare that you’ll find a Filipino published graphic novel in the US standard comic book size. Because most of the comic books or graphic novels published in the Philippines are printed in a smaller format.

THE CREATORS & READERS

Trese had a huge following over the years and this won’t be without its creators. Bujette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo put up a great story that combines police procedural and supernatural that features Filipino folklore.

They started this just for fun which they continue to strive and inspire young readers. At the same time changing the way Filipino comic books are perceived as for kids only. The target audience right now would definitely surprise you.

COMPARING OLD WITH NEW

One of the reasons why you should pick up the Trese: Book of Murders is not only about the great stories that you have already read several times. But also the cosmetic changes within the book itself like the artwork by Kajo Baldisimo.

Kajo made sure this is not just a re-compilation of the first three books. Some of the pages where re-drawn with details that this book is worth every page. It screams in such glorious detail that puts a premium value and makes Trese appear new again.

PREMIUM SIZE FOR THE RIGHT PRICE

Finally, the size won’t be that expensive since they have it at the right price. If you missed getting the copy at Komikon 2013 don’t despair. Filbar’s is carrying the same book at their stores in Festival Mall, SM Megamall, and at Skydome in SM North. Retailed at PhP 950.00 pesos ($22.08 US Dollars) It is worth every penny for a book that was originated as a comic book stapled on photocopied paper.
