Sigourney Weaver Wants to be a Ghost in Ghostbusters 3!
Bogart The Explorer known as one of the popular YouTube sensation in Philippine popular culture started with outrageous skits. But over the years the man from Davao City has started to evolve as one of the credible interviews on social media. If you missed him going to Singapore last year to interview the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy you might have been living under the rock.
This time around Bogart and the Paper Bug TV team had a chance not only to interview Sigourney Weaver, but also Dev Patel, Hugh Jackman and writer/producer Neill Blomkamp who was recently named as the director of the yet untitled 5th Aliens movie.
Right off the bat Bogart expressed his being a fan of science fiction gushing that he enjoyed Weaver’s portrayal of Ellen Ripley in the Aliens films. Weaver was deeply flattered about Bogart’s compliment on the Oscar Nominee and preceded with his first question about her relationship with Neill Blomkamp, the director of CHAPPiE as well as other sci-fi films he helmed like District 9 and Elysium.
Weaver emphasis on her role as one of the antagonist in the film that made CHAPPiE and how this would relate to younger audience, which she takes her character to the reason why this robot exist. Bogart also compliments and asks how it feels to be an Oscar nominated actress in a sci-fi film (she was nominated for her performance as Ripley in the 1986 Aliens considered a landmark in the recognition of science fiction, action, and horror genres, as well as a major step in challenging the gender role in cinema)
But even though Bogart missed the part about the 5th Aliens film he also immediately ask Weaver what she thinks of the upcoming Ghostbusters film to be directed by Paul Feig, which features a new cast of female actresses. Weaver’s response was positive that the new cast and director for Ghostbusters as she adds that it’s “in good hands”, which she says that if the cast would ask “the old fogies” for a cameo she would like to be a ghost. Certainly that’s something interesting to hear from Ms. Sigourney Weaver who portrayed in the two previous Ghostbusters as Dana Barrett, the crew’s first customer and Peter Venkman’s (Bill Murray) romantic interest.
"CHAPPiE already showing in Philippine cinemas on IMAX and 2D cinemas distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
