| 05.04.2018 - Free Comic Book Day has become an annual revelry for readers, nerds, and fans alike. It’s like Christmas in May, but it is more related to comicbooks and at the same time promotes literacy as well as introducing new readers to the wonders of four-colour pages that’s been around as long as anyone who has picked up comics.
For Greenlight Comics, this would be their third anniversary since opening their doors during the annual FCBD that’s a not-so-obvious coincidence to celebrate the store’s opening that made A LOT of sense moving forward. But things are just about to be set on the eve of the event on ‘Star Wars Day’. |
Friday night in downtown Adelaide is slowly winding down, and usually, the stores usually open Friday nights at 5 PM, which is quite a stretch from the normal trading hours. But this time, one of the regular staff members is outing on the ribbons as he chats with walk-in customers and sets up for FCBD.
Outside, the store’s façade is covered with FCBD posters that usually have a display. This time around, it’s like the comic shop is campaigning as they’re not the only store to celebrate FCBD. But they put the leg up and even made it to the recently released broadsheet from The City with an X-23 cosplayer gracing the cover.
This Saturday is certainly to invite A LOT of new readers as some might discover this within the day. It might be overly hyped, but you know fans will be visiting not only this store but three other shops nearby that have announced their participation.

It’s going to be crowded and if you’re not the type to be in the middle of a group of people just drop by early and grab three FREE COMICS at the same time mingle with local artists it is going to be busy.
