Happy Meal Spotlight | Max-D & Tusk

10.12.2018 – In a set of toys that gets released there are the popular ones and there are also the lemons, which are the lesser known characters or vehicles. Some might ignore it when collecting a Happy Meal toy and just complete a set regardless for each of the toys appeal even though not all of them have the same popularity.

McDonald’s in the Philippines have released the Beanie Boos and Monster Jam toys since 21st of September and like any Happy Meal these promotional items will be on display for a month even though some of them might have been sold out.

This is common for any toys sold namely Happy Meals. There are popular characters or vehicles that immediately get sold out and there also leftovers that hardly moved the display due to its unpopular appearance or even being ignored totally. Then there are the ones are entirely underrated that failed to be noticed for a second look.

For toys released through Happy Meal some fail to notice that not all are cool and the aesthetics are mostly ignore that they just want to complete a set regardless if the other characters being unpopular. But for those who are selective and know what they ‘need’ not for what they ‘want’ there’s a gem in those sets that definitely stand out.

The Gladiator Truck in Max-D

Most people who have already got the new Monster Jam trucks from Happy Meal would likely get the Dragon ahead of the three other trucks followed by the El Toro Loco and then Blue Thunder leaving Max-D the last to get the attention it deserves.

For those who never got to see the live shows by Monster Jam clearly not everyone knows the names of these trucks and they rather collect them without even have the knowledge what are these four wheel behemoths. Max-D is one of the iconic trucks from Monster Jam, but appearance in toy form sold in Happy Meal is a toned down version minus the skull stickers on its side.

When you buy the Monster Jam trucks included in the Happy Meal the stickers are not yet applied as a fun way to bond with parents and their kids in helping them apply the labels for the trucks. Its also note worthy for those unaware that they have pullback gimmicks and all of them are made of plastic.

A Tusk of Softness

Like Max-D, Tusk is not your popular Beanie Boos among the four that was available for McDonald’s in the Philippines. This yellow-coloured seal is the last one you’ll see in the display as the toys have been around for the past three weeks some stores are starting to deplete their stock and Tusk gets to be the leftover in the bunch.

But for those getting into the Beanie Boos wagon this creature will certainly grow on you, but he’s not a favourite. Tusk was released in North America with Snort and Frostiness, which makes these characters an exclusive in a certain country. When Australia had the Beanie Boos last year all three above mentioned where not available but had their own set of characters not sold in the Asian region.

Just like the rest of the Beanie Boos soft toy sold for Happy Meal, Tusk has a tag that describe his character and date of birth which should make an interesting look for those who passed on the others.
