Playtime Paradiso is Tyang Karyel’s latest project, and her first seen in the public scene outside the local galleries that featured her over the years. She has built a portfolio ranging from small installations participating in group shows to elaborate set ups like painting a house gate that depicts you being transported into another world. Clearly, Tyang Karyel continues to envolve and bring “fun” in art influenced by her youth and other Filipino-related popular culture things from the eras of 80s & 90s that defines her artistry, which is the reason why she’s one of the 10 artists at Art Fair Philippines 2022!

Local events in the most countries are slowly opening up for the public, and in the Philippines there’s something big has been brewing that’s been on hiatus for nearly two years. Art Fair Philippines is one such event that has been an annual affair in the month of March since its inception in 2013 has made its return for a 10-day affair that collaborates with local and international artists from all over the world. They had recent have a preview night that brought back some familiar faces and friends that hardly seen during the hiatus.
