| 03.01.2014 – The Flash will finally return on television after appearing in a 2-part episode last fall in Arrow. CW is set to shoot the pilot sometime this week and previously revealed principle actors that would surround Barry Allen.
Iris West was first revealed and then John Wesley Shipp the original actor who portrayed Barry Allen in the 1990s is now part of the show in “unspecified” role that everyone is excited about. Now here comes a teaser of the costume finally revealed! |
Barry Allen made an appearance in Arrow but not in costume but sets the tone for his origin in how he came to be the fastest man alive. Now CW teases with Grant Gustin in his Flash costume, but not in full body just his head revealing what he will wear to conceal his secret identity.
The cowl appears to be based from the New 52 appearance of Flash in the comic books. It appears the red is toned down in a darker shade which takes more realism unlike the bright version in the comic books. The costume is designed by Oscar Award winner Colleen Atwood, who also designed Stephen Amell’s costume for Arrow.
After a successful appearance in Arrow the new series spin off bring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen in the Flash pilot which will start shooting next week. Expect more updates about the full costume reveal.
The Flash is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and David Nutter also behind the success of Arrow. The script is written by Berlanti, Kreisberg, and DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns being directed by David Nutter.
