“Hidden Fortress” is a two-man show at Secret Fresh Gallery as part of this year’s Art Fair Philippines as one of the participating local galleries, which features Egg Fiasco and QUICCS representing the street art culture as well as a power house world class visual artists that has been collaborating with well-known brands.
As individuals, both men have made a name for themselves crossing over from artists painting walls to producing never before exclusive collaborations that also produced their own branding in the international scene. |
Certainly, their works has been known in their home countries that is now representing in this special show. The title “Hidden Fortress” was an inspiration as well as the name of their former art and tattoo shop located in the basement car park of the Ronac Art Center back in the early 2010s. It is also the title of the Japanese film from 1968 directed by Akira Kurosawa, and it was timely reminder of both of their roots having that quaint little shop at that basement. It is where all of their early works and upcoming projects where hatched with their fellow collaborators.
This is also shows their individual art styles that works together when you mashed them up. QUICCS’ TEQ with Egg Fiasco’s monkey character has have a fair share of evolution from just ‘experiments’ from those early days, and it shows how crisp and vibrant the colors they have chosen in making this show a must to visit.
Adoring all these impressive artworks is the TEQ standing guard that is covered with Egg Fiasco’s colour palette like their breaking out of the statue. It’s the only installation that’s the centerpiece, which holds all the paintings together that shows both of their creative chemistry is not just a collaboration. But it is a partnership they have long before their individual careers have taken off and they definitely complement each other in this special Art Fair PH show.
“Hidden Fortress” is a two-man show featuring Egg Fiasco and QUICCS, which is now on exhibit beginning 23 March to 1 April 2022 representing Secret Fresh Gallery, where you can find other works and more details can be found via their social media on Facebook and Instagram!
