DC Comics has been rolling with the punches with the “All-In” initiative for 2025, and to that extent, it launched a long-running series with a jumping-on point for new readers where to start with a new creative team. This time, DC kept the Nightwing series from 2016, which is the fourth volume to make it consistent without the need to start with a number-one issue.
After the successful run with the writer Tom Taylor and artist Bruno Redondo beginning with issue no. 78 and capping off the last storyline with issue no. 118 do you think there’s no more story to tell about Nightwing? |
But there’s more where that came from with a new creative team with writer Dan Watters taking the baton together with all-star artist Dexter Soy taking the reins with issue no. 119.
It’s been almost five years since Dexter Soy had a singing event to celebrate his latest work. For 2025, it will be his run as a regular artist for the Nightwing series which certainly had a large female fan following as there was that with some fans dressing up as the character and meeting the artist for the first time.
Though catching up to Dexter Soy’s tail-end of the signing event did not produce all that evidence, surely, fans who came in droves will be posting them through their social media. But Comic Odyssey’s first signing event for this year shows there are comic book readers out there who follow the character every month and not the compiled editions that take a long time to get the complete series or storyline.
There are still readers out there who prefer collecting floppies to trade paperbacks, and it shows fan dedication and support to the creative team especially if the artist is homegrown and based in the same country where Nightwing fans have shown up and given their appreciation to the artist like Dexter Soy.
In case you missed out on all the fun, there are still photos of Dexter signing comic books that he did previously and current ones as well as posters and prints that you see some of the images below:
Nightwing Vol. 4 Series is published by DC Comics featuring the creative team of Dan Watters (Writer), Dexter Soy (Artist), and Veronica Gandini (Colours) beginning with issue No. 119, and the current issue as of this writing is No. 121. But you can back check with Comic Odyssey, where they can probably back order copies of the succeeding issues for those looking forward to following the series featuring this creative team.
