MoCAF 2024 | Saturday Highlights

MoCAF (Modern and Contemporary Art Festival) is an annual event, and this is their third year bringing some of the best talents and art houses in the industry under one roof that has been ever-present these past few days since opening its doors for the last three days that has gained record numbers of attendees, where most of the visitors are young and aspiring future artists. There have been familiar faces and newer ones breaking into the art scene as well as new art galleries that recently opened early this year making their splash to contribute to the ever-growing grassroots give you an overload of visual talent, where the masses rare thread.

Galerie Stephanie | The Soup Can Factory

One artist comes to mind for those exposed to Pop Art and immediately see the Campbell Soup. That artist is Andy Warhol, and for many years since his passing many have followed his footsteps and been inspired a generation of artists that included his art style to their works through their perspective. Farley Del Rosario, a Manila-based artist, has established himself going into his second solo exhibition with his first early this year at Galerie Joaquin. This time, Farley shares his perspective that inspired him from his childhood with his exposure to popular culture is creating his own niche in an ever-growing artists community.

Galerie Stephanie | Dreams

Most people are still dreaming, but Manix Abrera, the man has been working hard to make that Dream happen and more. He’s been at his peak in creating stories from panel to panel while appearing in local comic shops and events signing autographs and meeting with his longtime fans. This time, Manix is having the time of his life traveling and seeing the world. It is also that he is reliving a Dream of having his next Solo Art Show with Galerie Stephanie, and this is not the first time he’s done it. But this is one exhibit, where you don’t see the comic strips and artwork anywhere as a one-off that’s great to see.

Galerie Stephanie | Cross Over

“Cross Over” is a collective group art show featuring Reen Barrera, Mr. S, GNCH, and SAIS, which have their first exhibit featured art Vinyl On Vinyl. This might not be a multiverse collaboration among four artists and four art galleries, but it is something worth venturing to explore their works in each exhibit. The second exhibit can be found at Galerie Stephanie, which is already on display and ready for you to make the visit and find some surprises along the way on your journey to this gallery as there are some interesting pieces that you may not have found it before and it is here.

Galerie Stephanie | Bukal sa Puso ng Lagim

04.10.2016 – KikoMachine has garnered a cult following that made Manix Abrera one of the most popular talent in the Philippine komiks industry. This also has expanded from a daily comic strip, online News Hardcore and Travel Hardcore. “Bukal sa Puso ng Lagim” is Abrera’s first solo show at the Galerie Stpahnie featuring his early KikoMachine works that evolved from having 8 identifiable characters all whom without a names to tapered characters in silhouettes.
