Movie Review: Shadow Recruit!

What makes Jack Ryan fascinating that he is no field agent. He's an analyst with a background as a marine. Jack Ryan is no super spy like 007. He's deep involvement in his escapades was circumstantial. It is also the first time that Jack Ryan was used as a title character. No Clancy novel ever used a character name as a title.

But the dangers Jack Ryan faces can be real in the world of espionage. This shows the human limitations of Jack Ryan in these situations. The last Jack Ryan movie was The Sum Of All Fears with Ben Affleck as Ryan. It was intended as a prequel but it never had a follow up after it.

Chris Pine's performance as Ryan was OK but I cannot help but still see him as Captain Kirk. For Kenneth Branagh, I am not surprised that he performed well being a villain.

DreamWorks Studios reveals some scenes from the movie that also includes a teaser trailer that was revealed a few weeks back. This film looks interesting with a talented cast that will bring this racing game to the big screen.

09.20.2013 – 2 Guns an upcoming action film that was original based in a comic book miniseries is set to be shown in the Philippines next Wednesday which stars Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. The film also features Paula Patton who previously appeared in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. If you haven’t heard about Robin Thicke asking permission to his wife to do the music video of “Blurred Lines” which containing nudity then the same could have happen to Paula Patten.

Machete Kills Red Band Trailer Released!

09.18.2013 – Danny Trejo reprises his role as the ex-federate known as Machete Cortez and the character he made famous is set to once again kick some ass in Machete Kills a direct sequel to the 2010 blockbuster film. Just like in Machete this features an ensemble cast with Jessica Alba, Tom Savini and Michelle Rodriguez also reprising their roles. As outrageous and exaggerated the concept for “Machete Kills” one must surely appreciate the artistic gore that makes this movie quite entertaining now that the man with the huge knife is back.

Movie Review: RED 2!

08.04.2013 – RED 2 is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster film which was based from DC Comics limited series by Warren Ellis and Cully Hammer under the WildStorm imprint Homage Studios which tells the story retired CIA agent Frank Moses. The film version differs from the comic book series which was light hearted comedy as opposed to the serious grit that was created by Elis and Hummer. RED the title is derived from the designation of the status of Frank Moses, meaning "Retired, Extremely Dangerous."

Jack The Giant Slayer -- Humongous Adventure!

Jack and the Giant Slayer have the elements that inspired “Jack the Giant Killer” and “Jack and The Beanstalk” with a bit of epic proportions. Bryan Singer weaves his way in making this film to be enjoyable and at the same time ambitious for you to be interested. After a long hiatus from the director’s chair Singer returns to direct this twisted version of your bedtime story.

Battle of the Giants in Pacific Rim!

12.14.2012 – Pacific Rim takes gigantic robots and monsters to the next level which was inspired by previous animation and movies. From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.



The film first got its first teaser with the poster being given away during the San Diego Comic Con International (SDCC) last July and the release of this trailer definitely caught a lot of attention due to the action that was quite a tease!

No End for Resident Evil: Retribution!

09.13.2012 – The Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) games inspired a cult following which started its success from the original PlayStation videogame console. Now on its sixth game the movie version is not far behind but unrelated to the above mentioned.



The movie has its own story that began in 2002 which stars Milla Jovovich as Alice an original character that was made for the film. There are some of the characters from the videogame did appear in the movie-verse as an ally or an enemy that Alice encountered.

Bloody Good Show for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter!

07.03.2012 – Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was recently shown in 3D for the invited press media last night. The visually impressive axe wielding 16th President of the United States America was quite an entertainment to fans who have read the novel based from the of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith. The Bourne Legacy Poster and Trailer debut online!

Currently filming and prepping up for release this August, Universal Pictures has released a new poster and the very first trailer to their upcoming spin-off flick based on Robert Ludlum's Bourne series - "The Bourne Legacy"! Starring Jeremy Renner (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, The Avengers) as Aaron Cross, the movie will center around events that transpire as a consequence of the actions of Jason Bourne in the past Bourne films. Filming was also done in this blogger's home country of The Philippines (with film locations taking place in spots like Manila and Makati), so it will be interesting to see how this fares in theaters this August, and it also stars Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton to boot! Karl Urban is the law in Judge Dredd!

11.20.2010 - A couple months back we get the news that Karl Urban (Star Trek, Red, Lord of the Rings) was cast as the new Judge Dredd. As we recall back the last Dredd film was in 1995 starring a guy named Sly Stallone. That movie was not a pretty sight to remember, but it had its moments at that time.
