| 09.21.2012 – Great Toys originally began its humble beginnings as an online seller for more than 10 years ago.
Providing what other online sellers can’t have which is with great prices and some hard to find collectibles that are not available in local retail. Malvin Lim the proprietor of the store was a toy collector himself who was into the vintage super robots and other pop culture related genre that made into toy form. |
He not only provides you some of the never before seen toys and collectibles in the retail market but having the product knowledge as well. Sometimes trivial for those who were just starting to be interested in collecting a particular brand that has the character or toy series.
Great Toys already have a physical store in early 2002 located at Taft Avenue which was actually located near his place. The growth of Great Toys started to expand in the mid-2000s when its first branch opened in V Mall in Greenhills which followed by another branch in the former Goldcrest in Makati.
This particular branch was relocated at the Walter Mart Mall near the school that is Don Bosco which was recently closed and currently pending on when it will have a permanent location in Makati. The other branches that Great Toys have are located in Festival Mall in Alabang and Eastwood in Libis.
Currently Great Toys has expanded another branch near their V Mall store and it’s located at Intrawest Bldg. located along Annapolis St. in Greenhills San Juan which had a soft launch last July 20, 2012. The latest store is the biggest branch which also carries not only the toys and collectibles but sports goods known as Star-Sports which the store started its continuous evolution into a special retail shop in the country.

Great Toys has evolved from being an online seller start up to the retail store that provides not only the hard to find collectibles and exclusive toys from the past and present but also a market that brings sporting goods with great prices.
Recently Great Toys had a special press media night for the bloggers and long-time friends who came for the official opening and launch of the latest branch. Malvin toured the bloggers as well as got a trivial knowledge of the sporting goods they have in the store from his older brother (who’s handling this side of the business).

Great Toys continues to evolve and caters to the larger market not only for the toy collecting industry but for those who are just casually interested in acquiring some of the collectibles not readily available from the retail market. The same goes with the sporting goods that carry basketball gear to fencing accessories with reasonable prices. Great Toys still has online presences which cater to other regional provinces in the Philippines and also to foreign market via eBay.
Great Toys in Intrawest building in Annapolis store hours is open Sundays to Thursdays at 11AM to 8PM and has extended hours from Friday and Saturdays at 11AM to 9PM.
