| Batman Day is an annual celebration, which is also the ‘Birthday’ or, most notably, the anniversary, when DC Comics published Batman’s first appearance in Detective Comics #27 with a cover date of May 1939 (released on March 30, 1939). But the annual celebration began in 2014, highlighted by its 75th Anniversary.
Since then, Batman Day has become a yearly tradition, which is mostly celebrated on the 2nd Saturday of September. It continues to be a tradition for the greatest detective, which continues to be relevant to this day, made famous through various media in animation, comics, movies, and video games. |
Local comic shops such as Comic Odyssey in the Philippines and Greenlight Comics in South Australia have been consistent with its own way in celebrating Batman.
In the Philippines, Comic Odyssey has been an active store that celebrates its favourite superheroes. This year, with the release of the movie, Supergirl and, this time, Batman have been part of the shop's way of not only promoting sales. But also to get new comic readers into the ever-growing and ever-evolving community.
This year was supposed to be last September 19th to celebrate Batman Day worldwide, but Comic Odyssey had a string of events that they participated in over the past few weeks, which kept them from having it the Saturday before. But this one is surely an official store event happening on September 26th, with details announced and posted on how to be part of the event…
