PRESS RELEASE: "La Da Dee" is Cloudy 2's End Credit Song!

08.13.2013 – Music what makes a movie great or bad. It can be the score or the accompanied song contributed by a well-known or an up and coming artist. Actually it gives benefit to the move and to the artists who made the song memorable because of the movie or vice versa.

Without music a movie is like having its personality and it has played through the early films that incorporate such concept. As what the former Tower Records store’s business tag “No Music. No Life” seems to be true.

The popularity of the original animated feature “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” won’t have been popular without the music that made the film aside from the visuals that want to make you want to grab a burger and the sequel has something to offer…

Cody Simpson’s new single “La Da Dee” will be heard as the end credits song in Sony Pictures Animation’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, it was announced today by Lia Vollack, president of Worldwide Music for Sony Pictures. Simpson will also be shooting a music video that will incorporate footage from the film.

Written by Keinan Warsame, Wayne Wilkins, Antwoine Collins, Cody Simpson, Roman Ramirez, Kevin Anyaeji and Rich King, and produced by Wayne Wilkins, “La Da Dee,” from Atlantic Records, is on sale now.

“La Da Dee” is the leadoff track on Simpson’s new album, “Surfers Paradise,” which recently debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 200, marking Simpson’s best week of sales and his highest-charting release.

Commenting on the announcement, Vollack said, “‘La Da Dee’ is a bright, fresh, fun song that strikes the perfect tone to end Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. Cody is a wonderful and talented recording artist who appeals to kids and their parents alike – he’s a perfect fit with the world of the film.”

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 picks up where Sony Pictures Animation’s mouth-watering comedy left off. Inventor Flint Lockwood thought he saved the world when he destroyed his most infamous invention -- a machine that turned water into food causing cheeseburger rain and spaghetti tornadoes. But Flint soon learns that his invention survived and is now creating food-animals – "foodimals!" Flint and his friends embark on a dangerously delicious mission to battle hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, hippotatomuses, cheespiders and other foodimals to save the world – again!

Directed by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn. Screenplay by Erica Rivinoja and John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein. Story by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and Erica Rivinoja. Inspired by the book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett. Produced by Pam Marsden and Kirk Bodyfelt.

Opening across the Philippines in October 9, 2013, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” will be distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
