| 01.22.2016 – Apol Sta. Maria is an accomplished visual artist and comicbook illustrator. He’s been well-documented and known in the independent scene that those who have heard his work like ‘Alamat ng Pangit’ (Legend of the Ugly) have already well accustomed to his creations.
His work as a visual artist expands further not limiting to his popularly known created vision. Apol certainly won’t just sit still and be stuck in a routine he evolves further. |
Just like his illustrations and comicbook creations Apol Sta. Maria takes his artistry to new heights in his solo show at Vinyl on Vinyl titled “Sexobyot” an allegorical-mixed-media-young-adult-suspense-thriller. It’s composed of logos and cut outs from a collection of old toy boxes.
If you have an eagle eye to identify the all-too familiar cut outs then your childhood must be ‘fun’ in knowing you’ve seen these old box of toys. To clearly give you an idea if you missed Apol’s first ever exhibit check out these images below:
