The highlight for MIAS every year is the annual car launches by participating companies and followed by exhibits by local owners who customized their cars. There have been also other things that are related to the automobile industry.
To capture a bigger market MIAS expands that interest to the collector enthusiast namely local toy groups that are into die cast cars and retailers that you rarely see in a car show. If you haven’t been into a car show here some interesting familiar sights that you’ll see at this year’s Manila International Auto Show:
The Toy Retailers
There have been two retailers sighted at this year’s MIAS and you have been into one of their physical stores in Greenhills. BTOYS is one of the two stores that have a booth and they have a branch located at Shoppesville. While the other one don’t have but the name of the booth is familiar at the same time will surprise you.
That store is Sphero Philippines, the local distributor of that famous BB-8 toy that became all the rage last Christmas. They have a local distributor that also sell other Sphero related products, and aside from the app powered robotics they are also one of the local distributors for TAMIYA.
The Japanese brand of model kits most familiar with those Mini-4WD cars that had its own Anime series in the late 1990s and early 2000s is locally distributed by Sphero Philippines, and recently the interest for small cars travelling at high speeds in a custom race track has been slowly being relevant once again.
Unfortunately Sphero Philippines doesn’t have a physical store they are being sold exclusively at Hobbes n’ Landes stores in Metro Manila.
Best Shots of DCPH Exhibits
Diecast Cars Philippines (DCPH) one of the oldest toy communities have been partners with MIAS having displayed most of the member’s collections in public. Its one of the biggest toy communities who is into this hobby of diecast car collecting and its not limited to the well known brands they are also into customizing.
Its one of the places you should pass by during your go around at this year’s Manila International Auto Show. This even connects with hobbyist of cars and toys under one roof and every year there’s something new to see in those glass displays that keeps this car show interesting and relevant every year.
