Toy Sightings | TRU Tea Tree Plaza

02.06.2018 – The long travel to Tea Tree Plaza from Adelaide in South Australia is like already going to another nearby state. But the trip is smoother avoiding any traffic taking the Adelaide O-Bahn Busway as one of the only three Toys R’ Us in this part of Australia not accessible in the main downtown area.

Toys R’ Us in Tea Tree Plaza has one of the biggest floor space second only to Noarlunga branch that stands in its own location than existing inside a shopping mall. The trip gives you a preview of the latest toys being promoted just in time for the release of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther on 15 February 2018.

When you enter the store immediately the toys presently being featured are from the Black Panther film. There’s not much to see here from Marvel Legends range by Hasbro, but you can find some of LEGO sets inspired from the film’s possible SPOILERrrific crucial scenes.

The action figures you’ll find here are from the basic assortment not related to the Black Panther range from Marvel Legends that only have 5-points of articulation. The Marvel Legends is not even complete, but you’ll find that there are some interesting sightings here aside from the featured toys at the front entrance.

Marvel Mighty Mugs

Mighty Mugs is making a return and it is slowly appearing in all retail stores across South Australia and TRU Tea Tree Plaza has already the Marvel themed characters namely Groot, Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk, and Spider-Man. The difference and upgrade of the latest Mugs is the facial expressions for each character.

The gimmick feature is when you press the top of its head you get to see three different expressions including the default face. For Spidey which entirely covers his mug, no pun intended you get to see his expressive eyes.

Legends Exclusive

There are also other Marvel Legends figure assortment in pegs, but what’s not available in other retail shops in Adelaide are the exclusive only two-pack featuring Peter Parker/Spider-Man & Mary Jane set and the Dark Phoenix & Cyclops set that you can only find in this part of Modbury’s TRU store.

Power Rangers Legacy

Celebrating the legacy of Power Rangers is Bandai’s release of newly sculpted representation of classic rangers from its history. You can find these assortments also at TRU in Tea Tree Plaza and some exclusive not featured in this article.

Star Wars Mighty Mugs

If last year’s Force Friday at Tea Tree was not enough for you then these new Mighty Mugs themed figurines might be on your radar to collect as you’ll find these now at this side of TRU featuring Darth Vader, Rey, and Kylo Ren.
