In a few days, Superman will be heading to the big screen once again. But this time, it’s an entirely ‘New’ movie which will reboot the live-action part of the DC Studios’ new slate of films, separate from the previous DCEU (DC Extended Universe). Some fans will welcome it, and some are still critical and skeptical will keep an eye on the development of the film’s general reaction. Of course, whenever there’s a new film from DC, expect the merchandise to follow. The action figures have been leaked and discussed for potential spoilers.

The Batman | Sightings at Ollie & Co Glorietta

In just a few days The Batman is heading to cinemas, but in case you’re unaware the merchandise and collectibles started appearing in retail space since the start of January 2022 with LEGO. Though things started to ramp up when the action figure toy line for the 4” inch has started being advertised in some parts of Asia. For the Philippines, The Batman toyline by Spin Masters has been teased through online selling sites like Lazada and Shopee from the start of February 2022, and slowly but surely they start to show up.

There have been more sighting news about the arrival of the latest Playmobil range in the past week and this only happen in just one location of Metro Manila in the Philippines, which is simultaneously being rolled out also in other retail locations. It can be possible in your area that is good news for those hoping to get their chance to picking up what’s new for 2020/2021 catalog. The most recent sighting is another store with bigger shelves to fill, and that is the Rustan’s store in Makati City. Like the previous store that had the bigger sets this also have the same mentioned sets and more.

Playmobil sets are slowly sprouting around local retail and most of the major ones are larger that some retail shops don’t have enough space to house them. Previously, sightings of the bigger sets have been reported, but that was just the first few ones that focus on the more popular themes like City and Knights that has been the backbone of the Playmobil brand from the beginning. Playmobil | Sightings at Toytown Glorietta

Playmobil is slowly getting updating its latest catalog through various major retail stores at Toys R’ Us and Toy Kingdom. Though, not every store carries the same sets and some have been exclusive to a specific branch. If you’re wondering about the bigger sets if they are coming then worry no more. Toytown is carrying it which is Ban Kee Toys’ very own retail store, though they are only limited in location what they offer is far more than what you expect. But given the tie-up of the major retail stores as their priority you might find some of the older sets at this store. This would also surprise you that they also have new sets!

Playmobil | Sightings at Toy Kingdom Makati

Playmobil returns to Philippine retail with Playmo Figures, vehicles, and sets. It was in early 2019 which was the last refresh on all toy shelves, and it wasn’t the same ever since But the paat few days was unexpected with the new set arrivals from the 2020/2021 product catalogue. Though the new toys are not in abundance, they continue to turn up on local retail with most of the news one appearing at Toys R’ Us in Greenbelt and Glorietta. But that doesn’t mean its exclusive to this store when it was first appeared on local retail way back in 2016. Toy Kingdom in SM Makati had the same update as sighted!

Playmobil | Sightings at TRU Glorietta

The roll out for the latest Playmobil sets was a simultaneous release for all the stores within Metro Manila with the priority to make them available in all major retail outlets namely Toys R’ Us, which was previously sighted its Greenbelt branch. Though not all sets are available in one store some have been sporadically spread out to some of the branches that have more foot traffic. Playmobil sets now are heavily focused on what’s popular namely fantasy, science fiction, and daily life as some of the popular themes that are known for this market. So far some of those sets are not available from the previous reported store can be found at this Toys R’ Us branch in Glorietta Mall.

Playmobil | Sightings at TRU Greenbelt

Just when you think that the Playmobil brand will be discontinued in the Philippines there was a surprising development during midday of Friday. There are very few selected sets that have pop-up out of one Toys R’ Us store in Metro Manila, and it must be one of those branches that unlikely gets enough foot traffic due to its “hole in the wall” location that is occasionally looked up. Later that day TRU relocated the Playmobil shelves beside the LEGO area, which is both distributed by Ban Kee Trading in the Philippines. With that they have widened the shrunken up shelves to take the whole side, which use to occupy by generic dinosaurs and brick imitations.

Shopkins is a collectible based on grocery items and other objects that have emotional faces released in 2013 that continue to be released by Moose Toys. The current series of collectibles has now mini-dolls accompanied by the said grocery items and other objects with the current series now collaborating with actual brands. Local toy store Ollie & Co Glorietta branch in Makati City currently having the old Shopkins blind packs from the first and second series, which also included some from the seventh to ninth series at 50% off. Toy Sightings | Playmobil Figures 14

02.23.2019 – Playmobil has been lukewarm with the latest released of toys in the Philippines lately. There were no new toys based on the “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” on display in time for the movie’s release and the toys based on the Dragons TV series were not updated to stock as the closest to the merchandise based on the said film. Currently, Bankee Inc the local distributor of Playmobil has A LOT of plans in store for 2019 and some surprises but they’re keeping it to their chest until things considered official.

Toy Sightings | TRU Tea Tree Plaza

02.06.2018 – The long travel to Tea Tree Plaza from Adelaide in South Australia is like already going to another nearby state. But the trip is smoother avoiding any traffic taking the Adelaide O-Bahn Busway as one of the only three Toys R’ Us in this part of Australia not accessible in the main downtown area. Toys R’ Us in Tea Tree Plaza has one of the biggest floor space second only to Noarlunga branch that stands in its own location than existing inside a shopping mall. The trip gives you a preview of the latest toys being promoted just in time for the release of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther on 15 February 2018.

B'lue | Batman V Superman Exclusive Drink!

03.12.2016 – B’lue collaborates with DC Entertainment in promoting the greatest gladiator match in history with “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice”, which probably by now is touring Metro Manila in bringing the action to the local malls. They also released an exclusive edition of their product featuring the DC Comics Trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman where each character has two variations of the bottle that is now available in supermarkets.

02.05.2016 – Toy Story 4 won’t be out until 2018 and still being developed. But the merchandise based on the Disney Pixar film feature never ends. There’s always going to be a set of characters based on Toy Story no matter the shape or size. This is evident with Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy where a new set of Toy Story figures and vehicles where sighted. It features six characters in the line made by Takara Tomy for their Tomica line and its quite impressive how they stand out.

12.23.2013 – Tintin is a popular graphic novel that established itself as one of the iconic franchise that expanded to animation and most recently a feature length CG film. It also has a lot of merchandise down to its collectible figurines and dies cast cars. But what made Tintin popular are the stores and adventures that have been told in numerous books that have been reprinted in different forms and language all over the world. Anywhere in the world you can spot a Tintin book from a far and there was one sighted at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport featuring all the books.

Sighted: DM2 Agnes & Gru Collectors Edition!

07.05.2013 – The Minions may be sold out but for those who collect the Despicable Me 2 toys other than Gru’s henchman have a little chance to collect the other characters. Two additional action figures have been sighted yesterday. They are the Collector’s Edition Gru and Agnes just like the three playful minions that were sold out prior to the release of the film these have the same electronic feature. Both figures have more than 30 movie lines based from the original and the sequel. Agnes stands at 11 inch while Gru stands at 14 inches which has a talk back interactive feature.
