08.02.2020 – There have been great Happy Meal toys and recent releases wasn’t what collectors are hoping for. The best ones that usually released are exclusives to a specific country or region and those were from collaboration with Disney that also owns Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and it’s other properties. The slowdown due to the worldwide pandemic has been a complicated challenge for companies like McDonald’s that release their Happy Meal toys. In Asia, there haven’t been toys from the fast-food giant that really was unforgettable like 101 Dalmatians or the United Nation’s Snoopy.

06.01.2020 - McDonald’s in Southeast Asia has slowly updated the latest Happy Meal toys in the countries that covered this region. Since early in March 2020 the latest toy featuring Trolls World Tour has been presented to various markets and the Philippines has finally caught up with the collectibles that was supposed to be released two months earlier. Due to the coronavirus pandemic there has been no new toys released. Though the animated film has already been released in the US through Video on Demand the toys have been already released ahead of its original screen date.

02.25.2020 – The Fast & Furious franchise has expanded to a younger target audience with its most recent spinoff “Fast & Furious: Spy Racers” now streaming all eight episodes on Netflix since 26 December 2019. There’s no indication if this series is canon to the live-action films but Vin Diesel made a voice cameo as Dom Toretto. Of course, if there’s a new series a tie-up merchandise is right behind this with McDonald’s Happy Meal being released in various markets including North America and now Southeast Asia including the Philippines featuring the cars in the series.

02.22.2020 – The releases of Happy Meal toys since the start of the year was a bit slow and the line-up was not that much impressive. The Pokemon range of “cut out” figurines weren’t the same as actual toys with gimmicks and Hasbro Games weren’t much appealing to a select Asian households that include the Philippines. It seems like they are going back to the basic interest why Happy Meal is not just a kid’s favorite whenever they go to their nearest McDonald’s. But this time there’s an option for your little ones to pick a book or get the latest toys like the TY soft toys featuring fishes for girls and the upcoming Netflix Fast & Furious Racers!
