Papercuts Comics Festival | Five Days of Comics

09.06.2019 – Papercuts Comics Festival is the First Ever event that promotes local artistry this side of South Australia and other regions in the country. The Event also promotes independent self-published works from creators letting everyone know that local comics are alive in Adelaide.

The event will surely open up to be an annual celebration of comics and graphic novels that would inspire kids and comic book fans. It has been a long time that Adelaide gets it first ever comics-related event that focuses on the grassroots and finally it’s a week away and here’s more about the event!

AVCon 2018 | Closing Day Highlights

07.23.2018 – The last day for Adelaide’s Video and Game Festival (AVCon) has so many things to see and interact with exhibitors. Not to mention you can also participate in their interactive activities or see some interesting activities. The major draw of course is the show floor.

There are countless interesting things to see at this year’s AVCon and they certainly packed the Adelaide Convention Centre with quite the show it was. For the fans wanting to meet the guests you get to see them in person and get your autographs too.

FCBD 2018 | Four Comic Shops in Adelaide

05.06.2018 – Free Comic Book Day has become a worldwide event that started as one of the campaigns in America to promote literacy and also introduce comic books to the next generation.

Yesterday FCBD is a global event considered as “Christmas” for comic book fans all over the world as they march to their nearest shop.

In Adelaide it has been hyped up a few days before Saturday with all four comic shops within the area had set to promote this annual gathering of comic book fans as well as inviting new readers to this medium.

Greenlight Comics | The FCBD Preview

05.04.2018 - Free Comic Book Day has become an annual revelry for readers, nerds, and fans alike. It’s like Christmas in May, but it is more related to comicbooks and at the same time promotes literacy as well as introducing new readers to the wonders of four-colour pages that’s been around as long as anyone who has picked up comics.

For Greenlight Comics, this would be their third anniversary since opening their doors during the annual FCBD that’s a not-so-obvious coincidence to celebrate the store’s opening that made A LOT of sense moving forward. But things are just about to be set on the eve of the event on ‘Star Wars Day’.

World Peacekeepers | Delta Force

03.21.2018 – Military themed action figures are the pinnacle of modern toy interest from World War II to the Vietnam War there were a diverse theme of toys associated with armed forces, which gives you the details and curiosity how these men and women go through the conflict made into kids play things.

No doubt the interest all things military has slowly gone down in place of fictional superhero themed properties and science fiction. It is a good way to have diversity and to keep younger children away from real world violence. But there are still toy manufacturers would continue making military toys like the World Peacekeepers!

Toy Sightings | TRU Tea Tree Plaza

02.06.2018 – The long travel to Tea Tree Plaza from Adelaide in South Australia is like already going to another nearby state. But the trip is smoother avoiding any traffic taking the Adelaide O-Bahn Busway as one of the only three Toys R’ Us in this part of Australia not accessible in the main downtown area.

Toys R’ Us in Tea Tree Plaza has one of the biggest floor space second only to Noarlunga branch that stands in its own location than existing inside a shopping mall. The trip gives you a preview of the latest toys being promoted just in time for the release of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther on 15 February 2018.

Halloween Comic Fest 2017 | News & Shops

10.27.2017 – Halloween weekend is almost here but for those who haven’t heard any event happening this Satruday for those who’ll be interested in taking home FREE COMICS this might be a good news as list of selected shops participating around Asia and South Australia has been announced.

Halloween Comic Fest has been an annual event since 2012 and like Free Comic Book Day this is the day everyone comes and grab a couple of fee comics. But in a Halloween theme without the need for trick or treat when you visit your nearest store and here’s a very short list of the shops…

Supanova Expo 2017 | Stan Lee Headlines Adelaide

10.17.2017 – Supanova is descending to Adelaide Showground on November 17 to 19, 2017, and its one of the highlighted fan conventions this side of South Australia.

Headlining the guests for this event is Stan Lee, The Man himself will making his way not only to Brisbane, but also in Adelaide next month. The co-creator almost all of Marvel's characters is the one to look for ward to and more!

Batman Day 2017 at Greenlight Comics!

09.24.2017 – “Batman Day” is celebrating Harley Quinn’s first appearance with the character’s 25th anniversary originally appearing in Batman: The Animated Series’ episode “Joker’s Favor” as the annual event is no longer about just the cape crusader.

If you haven’t heard about “Batman Day” it started with the Dark Knight’s 75th Anniversary in 2014. Every year it was all about Bob Kane with Bill Finger’s creation but for 2017 its about the Joker’s sidekick Harley Quinn and the event was celebrated in South Australia by Greenlight Comics.

World Peacekeepers | Ranger Heavy Gunner

08.08.2017 – There have been other Military-themed action figures outside the iconic G.I. Joe by Hasbro and some of them are highly detailed at the same time affordable. Most of them capture the modern look of the military in the current iteration.

Some of them have come and gone or sometimes rebranded as a new product. Then there’s that exclusively available only for one retail store. These are the World Peacekeepers and taking a look at one of their basic figures namely this Ranger.

Discover Adelaide's Two Comic Shops!

01.06.2015 – Last year during the trip to South Australia there was a chance to explore the city of Adelaide for comic shops in the area. So far there are two that were spotted within the vicinity of Rundle Mall that can tell its popular culture scene.

Comparing it to the Philippine comic book scene the shops are like any other ordinary store in South Australia fairly conservative much like the American counterparts. But further look into the shops as explored during the last week of December 2014.

12.24.2014 – If you’re into Star Wars chances are you’re excited and very much anticipating The Force Awakens, which has been much talked about during the last quarter of 2014. There’s so much buzz that the Storm Troopers have been in the spotlight again.

The iconic foot soldiers of the Galactic Empire have been known in popular culture that they have been translated into several parodies. But in the Designer Toy Art scene they are more popular being re-introduced in different forms and one of them is the Mini Trooper Boy!

Toy Factory and the Biggest Rocking Horse!

12.30.2013 – The Toy Factory in Gumeracha in South Australia has a rich history and what makes this place is a welcoming sight is the Big Rocking Horse that stands at 18.3 metres tall, which was built in 1981 by David Macintosh and John Twopenny.

It’s the biggest rocking horse of its kind as a Guinness Book of World Records holder. The Toy Factory has been around since 1973 which produce wooden toys and collectible items, which expanded into a tourist destination in Australia.
