06.18.2010 - Every geek has a special place but this one is sanctuary. Though not to caught off-guard with all the deals that will happen on Saturday and Sunday. The biggest and longest running convention in the Philippines is back on top again with The 9th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention (abbreviated as TOYCON) organized by the fine gentlemen of Collectibles Unlimited.
This year also marks the 75th Anniversary of DC Comics and its this year's theme for Toy Con 2010! I'm sure you are all pretty much excited marching towards the main entrance of the Megatrade Hall 2. Its going to be a definitely a wild riot standing in line at the entrance.
The humongous crowd of geeks and fans will be camping out as early as the sun is out, and before SM Megamall opens its glass doors at exactly 10AM. Its going to be busting loose in all angles so prepare your cameras and get your super hero costumes on. Not only you get to see the pop culture phenomena back again be there as your favorite DC Comics character. You may not know they might give away prizes and beat the Guinness World Record for the convention attendees in their super hero costume.
Since 2002 Toy Con has been a staple and being part of the Philippines' pop culture, and each year the visitors come in droves to be part of its success. Its the counterpart of Singpore's STGCC and Malaysia's International ToyFair. But in the Asian region the oldest with the exception of Japan. This is the San Diego Comic Convention in a smaller scale of the Philippines.
Few can say and had proven this since it has foreign guests and exhibitors, who had experience the energy of the convention. So if you haven't been around or has not stepped inside the Megatrade Hall you must be living under a rock that nobody can reach you.
Honestly this is the best place to chill and relax. See the vibe and the convention experience is nothing compared to being part of its legacies.
So what are you waiting for? Better head out early in the morning for the biggest convention show in Manila!
