To any extent This Means War is originally inspired from Spy Vs Spy a black and white comic strip which appears in the monthly issue of Mad Magazine. The strip originally debuted in the issue of the magazine on January 1961. Two years prior to Star Trek the original series being aired sometime on 1963. Not to be confused for This Means War this originally was supposed to be directed by Academy Award winning director in Ron Howard.
