Five Things About This Means War!

02.16.2012 – This Means War is an action comedy film which stars Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, and Reese Witherspoon under 20th Century Fox. The film gad a special screening preview in North America on Valentine’s Day and the rest of the region will catch up selected screen dates but in the Philippines its on February 22, 2012.


This time around we’re going to give you some interesting trivia about the actors behind the film with an interesting tidbit about the movie itself. Basically the premise of This Means War is about two agents who found having the same affection to one woman and everything breaks loose.

There much about to give way further details of the film than something interesting you’ll find what made this film a curious one for those who just want to catch a good action, a few laughs and more explosions.


She’s Legally Blonde and Multi-Awarded!

Reese Witherspoon the object this film’s affection is a Academy Award, Gold Globe, BAFTA, and Screen Actors Guild Award for best actress in a leading role for the film Walk The Line portraying June Carter Cash the wife of the famed Johnny Cash in the true to life biopic. Not to forget she made waves as Elle Woods which produced two films of Legally Blonde almost 10 years ago.


The Batman’s newest Antagonist a Clone of Captain Picard!

Recently he’s getting tied up to films as Inception and the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises portraying what would be Batman’s greatest nemesis in Bane coming July 20, 2012. It’s going to be a good five months before we see him after This Means War. But you did you know almost 10 years ago he first got recognized as Captain Picard’s enemy in Star Trek Nemesis? Yes if you remember Hardy’s role as The Reman Prator Shinzon which revealed to be Picard’s a young version or a clone.


There’s Shinzon and we got Captain Kirk!

Chris Pine’s breakthrough performance must has been a role used to be vacated by William Shatner since Star Trek became popular culture phenomenon. The younger version of Captain Kirk wasn’t an easy alliance with Zachary Quinto’s Spock in the 2009’s Star Trek film. He reprises the same role when the sequel arrives in 2013 and we got a full year ahead in seeing him in the Captain’s chair for now we see two “Star Trek Movie Stars” duke it out for the affection of Elle Woods.


It’s from Mad Magazine's Spy VS Spy!

To any extent This Means War is originally inspired from Spy Vs Spy a black and white comic strip which appears in the monthly issue of Mad Magazine. The strip originally debuted in the issue of the magazine on January 1961. Two years prior to Star Trek the original series being aired sometime on 1963. Not to be confused for This Means War this originally was supposed to be directed by Academy Award winning director in Ron Howard.

This Means Wars WAS Spy VS. Spy?!

Originally Sam Worthingthon and Bradley Cooper was attached to this film but dropped out and replaced by the current actors. Previously known titled “Spy VS. Spy” but the name changed happened a couple of months before the official promotional release which is now directed by McG who also directed Charlie’s Angels.

Just a thought you would be interested in watching this film which opens in the Philippines on February 22, 2012 from our friends at 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures!
