| 06.05.2014 – This news might be out already, but just in case you’ve missed an event that gives out free comics then you might be in luck on this one. Everyone is aware the year long celebration for Batman’s 75th anniversary with surprises and this might one of those.
DC Comics just announced a special one-day event to commemorate that anniversary and they are calling it Batman Day. For those who are a big fan of the dark knight detective you’ll be probably first in line to get a free comic book they are giving away… |
Batman Day happens on July 23, 2014 and just like Free Comic Book Day this event will give away a free comic. This is not just some free comic but a special issue commemorating the 75 years of Batman containing the original Detective Comics #27 by Bill Finger (finally her gets cover credit) and Bob Kane. This also have the New 52 issue retelling the classic origin from earlier this year by Brad Meltzer and artist Bryan Hitch.
There will also be new material from writer Scott Snyder and Sean Murphy with some design work by Chipp Kidd, while taking the Greg Capullo art from ‘Batman #0’ from Zero Month as its cover.
DC also included a timeline poster which documents some of the most notable milestones in Batman’s 75 year history:
