The TV crew, photographers, and online writers converged in the cinema section of SM North Edsa’s The Block. Former Miss Saigon actress Rachel Ann Go was in attendance who sang the beloved song “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” exclusively for the Philippine release of Cinderella.
Representatives of Walt Disney Studios in the Philippines have rolled the red carpet and the section where the film was shown last night was decked with a Cinderella theme. To celebrate the release of the live action adaptation based from the classic 1950 animated feature film The Block’s entertainment center featured the Pumpkin Coach that Cinderella has ridden to the grand ball, an oversized dress she have worn in the film that was also in display, and a giant version of the glass slipper.
The center attraction is the Pumpkin Coach in gold replica based from the live action film where mall visitors have the chance to take their own photos. Back in the cinema a replica of the glass slipper that Lily James have worn in the film as Cinderella is in the glass display on top of a rotating base.
Local personality and model Ella Cruz is the on ground host with the ASAP TV crew at the red carpet who also hosted a fashion walk in side the cinema prior to the showing of trailers, the Disney animated short “Frozen Fever”, and finally the film itself.
In-between the program they also raffled off special gift items from Walt Disney Studios to lucky winners who held the winning ticket numbers.
Post-screening local celebrities and personalities emerged from the cinema to give their thoughts about seeing the film as well as photo opportunity with the fans that had the chance to see the film a day before its Philippine release.
“Cinderella” is now showing beginning March 12, 2015 in Philippine cinemas, while other Asian markets will follow with their release. The film is directed by Kenneth Brannagh which stars Lilly James, Richard Madden, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Stellan Skarsgård, and Hayley Atwell.
