| 05.01.2015 – Free Comic Book Day is fast approaching and its less than 48 hours to go before someone started lining up at the locations previously revealed. For those who want to avoid the huge crowed there are low key shops participating.
There’s one particular store that would be considered a hole in the wall and if you’re not a regular comic book reader you won’t even notice it existed inside Glorietta. The store is Planet X Comic Shop... |
Planet X Comic shop is actually located in the 3rd level of Glorietta 3 section and if you’ve been entering the Ayala avenue side of the mall it’s down the hall passing Rustan’s department store on your left.
You won’t miss it because there’s a secondary security guard inspecting your bag (how redundant was that?) and after passing through a direct escalator will take you up and you won’t miss it once you reach that level. The shop has been around since 2007 and has been a frequent FCBD participant.
This was originally the second store prior to the original Planet X Comic Shop that opened at the Ayala Trinoma Mall which was downgraded into a kiosk. Planet X Comic Shop in Glorietta is now the main store.
FCBD Mechanics
Just like its sister company Comic Odyssey they will be giving away THREE FCBD titles per customer first come at a first serve basis. So mall opens at 10 AM and if you know your way how to get inside prior to the opening it means you’re good.
They might have more limited FCBD titles to give out since they’re not expecting a huge turn out as this store is more low key, but not private like other comic shops which mainly priorities their long time customers.
Clearance Sales and More
They will have sale featuring their back issue bins, variant covers, hard covers, graphic novels, trade paper backs, and other collectible items. It mirrors the same promo Comic Odyssey does over the years but not for a relatively big crowd.
But expect them to have clearance sale on some items they are slashing off prices. There might be a few more surprises that they will announce on the day of the event you’ll never know. Planet X Comic Shop might be right up your alley if you want to be low key and want to avoid the longs lines as an alternative option to be part of Free Comic Book Day so get ready Saturday is almost here!
