08.28.2019 – Marvel is celebrating its 80th year with a variety of celebration across all media platforms from animation, movies, videogames, and merchandising all over the world. The Philippines however is kicking it big an event that had a press launched yesterday in collaboration with SM Malls.
The event features everything Marvel has to offer with the appearance of Danny Koo, Marvel Game’s Senior Producer for Asia. He graced the event’s media day that capped off the an autograph signing and reveals showcased displays from local toy groups as well as soon-to-be revealed action figures from Hot Toys. |
This also bolster a plethora of exhibits that feature past releases of Marvel Legends action figures by Hasbro from both 4 inch and six inch scale including playsets with some never before seen dioramas made by passionate fans.
Truly, the House of Ideas is spreading across the globe with this big event held at SM North EDSA’s The Block you can also play some interactive games courtesy of OPPO that has some of the Marvel games that Danny Koo has produced. Some of the backdrop you’ll find in this exhibit are past to present images lifted from the comic books that include the recent introduction of WAVE appearing in The War of Realms tie-up New Agents of Atlas that was co-created by Greg Pak and Filipino sensation Leinil Yu that is prominently seen in as one of the background of the interactive booths.
Wave Celebrates with Marvel
Besides the chance to have a photo opportunity with a Spider-Man cosplayer at one of the areas it is where you can have the memorable Marvelous moment. There are toys, shirts, and other Marvel merchandise near one of the exhibit that feature personal collections of some fans. One local community the Pinoy LEGO Users Group (Pinoy LUG) have their specific area of display featuring some of the past and recent LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets mishmashes and pay homage to the Legend of Stan Lee.
You can also find another of Pinoy LUG’s exhibit at SM Bicutan. If you’re into the world of Marvel Comics, Filbar’s provides you the entry, which won’t be a Journey into Mystery as they give you, access to some of the recently released comicbook appearances of Wave, the First Filipina Superhero from Cebu! For early visitors of the event they also get an exclusive WAVE poster that features Namor and Silver Surfer for the Marve Future Fight game that Danny Koo has signed for the fans!
Marvel Merchandise and More
For the high-end collector Filbar’s is also taking pre-orders for the upcoming Hot Toys that includes Stan Lee in his appearance at the end of Captain America: Civil War that confirms that he is also one of the omnipotent being known as the Watcher.
Truly, a great week to celebrate eighty years of Marvel and just a tip-off this exhibit at The Block in SM North EDSA will be there until 1st of September 2019. You can see young boys and girls getting into the Marvel Universe and certainly can be Your Universe too.
