Children of Bathala | 3 Details Before Launch

11.22.2019 – The Mythology Class has been an award winning graphic novel in the Philippines and had a revival back in 2014 with two new covers and then most recent was relaunched with another brand new cover to celebrate 20 years accompanied with a signature shirt and other items related to it.

In-between the 2014 revival and the recent anniversary cover Arnold Arre, the author and illustrator of the original was hard at work with the sequel. This is not just a follow-up to the beloved characters it is also something more that Arre has been tight lip with details close to the chest. The art teasers are alone are like how Marvel keeps things tight with the succeeding films.

For new fans and have been following his works from a perspective of a reader Arnold Arre’s graphic novels are not treated as mere series, but a grand cinematic feel that has prestige that you don’t see in other books that include Filipino Mythology. It is treated like in the levels of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The story is rich with character and personality that it is entirely more than just punching bad guys and solving clues it is something highly regarded as a masterpiece to its own.

With the sequel “Children of Bathala” less than 24 hours away from being released at Komikon Grande this weekend at the Bayanihan Centre it was highly expected to make another ground breaking history recapturing what made the original great back in 1999 and here are some interesting information that might slip from your social media feed that you should know about the upcoming graphic novel.

• It is Just Volume One

Yes, if you haven’t read Arnold Arre’s recent post about “Children of Bathala” the book is divided into five volumes and they’re not going to be released altogether as the one going to be available this weekend is only Volume 1 while the rest of the released date as follows below:

• All around Arnold

Arnold will be at Komikon to sign copies and answer any questions (at least those he's at liberty to answer) on Saturday, 23 November 2019 only for this Komikon. He'll be at Table B75 (near the entrance to the main hall) and that is the only rime you’ll see the man and if you’re a long-time fan an d have books to sign then make the time.

These days Arnold is also busy with side projects and this is going to be a rare opportunity to see the award winning author/illustrator not only talk about the new book, but will give the chance to everyone to meet him in person for those new fans that has been curious about his previous projects and graphic novels.
