| In a few days, Superman will be heading to the big screen once again. But this time, it’s an entirely ‘New’ movie which will reboot the live-action part of the DC Studios’ new slate of films, separate from the previous DCEU (DC Extended Universe).
Some fans will welcome it, and some are still critical and skeptical will keep an eye on the development of the film’s general reaction. Of course, whenever there’s a new film from DC, expect the merchandise to follow. The action figures have been leaked and discussed for potential spoilers. |
But for those impervious to plot reveals, most of them only look for the ‘collectibles’ that had been some of the talking points of what a franchise is all about. There are new action figures from Spin Masters that have been out in the US market, not internationally. There's one store has had them hauled up for the past week, and that is at Ollie & Glorietta, which is one of the local stores in Metro Manila that carry them.
It just happens that they were held off by an embargo for the street date release, which was today, as the assortments have been lined up on their shelves ready to welcome long-time fans, and new to the world of DC Universe top get a hold of their action figure based on the likeness of the actors portraying these superheroes.
There are several figure assortments aside from the main set that let you complete one figure by collecting all six, and, surprisingly, Spin Master has focused on their 6-inch scale figures with more articulation, which they’ve been known for with the smaller scale 4-inch figures as far back as 2019.
Collect to Build | Super Robot 4
Completing a set of figures that came with parts of another figure to build it is sort of a common thing in the toy collecting market. But this is a first for Spin Master to include it in their Superman Movie assortment. There are six character figures for you to complete a set to build the Kryptonian Robot 4, which also appears in the movie.
Unfortunately, the assortment that Ollie & Co. Glorietta has in stock only has five figures minus The Engineer, which is a new character debuting in this film. For those not in the know, The Engineer is a member of the superhero group, The Authority, in the comic books, and she may have a crucial part in building that android.

Besides the main figure assortment that featured all the characters appearing in the movie, there is are upscale or premium assortment of figures that are also available now for you to check out. This includes the Superman VS Kaiju assortment that includes the same Superman from the single-carded figures mentioned above, as well as the Epic Strike figures that are larger and have their own action gimmick.
Lastly, the generic figures in 12-inch are also featuring not only Superman, but also the other characters like Mr. Terrific, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl. It seems the summer season of Superman is happening despite some parts of Asia already headed for the rainy season.
