Toy Sightings | Superman Movie by Spin Master

In a few days, Superman will be heading to the big screen once again. But this time, it’s an entirely ‘New’ movie which will reboot the live-action part of the DC Studios’ new slate of films, separate from the previous DCEU (DC Extended Universe). Some fans will welcome it, and some are still critical and skeptical will keep an eye on the development of the film’s general reaction. Of course, whenever there’s a new film from DC, expect the merchandise to follow. The action figures have been leaked and discussed for potential spoilers.

McFarlane Toys | DC Multiverse at Toy Town

McFarlane Toys continues to put out the best action figures with the DC Multiverse since they acquired the rights in 2019. The current releases continue to improve its design as well innovate from the previous iteration of characters that were produced by its former license holder not only with sculpts but the presentation and quality. The new wave featuring Dark Knights: Death Metal Build-a-Figure Darkfather, which appeared recently in the DC Comics mini-series. This wave assortment arrive this recent Wednesday along with two other figures (Gold Hellbat & Batman Beyond) that are not part of the assortment that was recently sighted Toy Town in Glorietta Mall.

07.20.2018 – These days when a film or animation is released chances are a plethora or merchandise gets produced. Most of them are based from what appears in the films, animation, or videogames. Sometimes this merchandise tends to overdo it in putting a product going beyond the original concept. Hot Wheels is known for its weird and odd concepts, but also produce some of the interesting ones based from its source material. The recent Justice League movie produced vehicles that Batman uses to combat the Parademons led by Steppenwolf in the 2017 film and this five-pack bends that concept.

08.16.2016 – The “Path of Doom” featuring Doomsday’s return when Superman, the one who died in the landmark 1992 series “Death of Superman” was about to settle in the new DC Universe after Rebirth is trying to balance life and being a true hero. This is the fifth instalment of the story arc written by Dan Jurgens with three rotating artists and this is Stephen Segovia’s debut since DC Comics brought back the original numbering for Action Comics starting with issue number 957. In this issue Dommsday continue his rampage all over Metropolis being protected by Lex Luthor proclaiming himself as this city’s ‘Superman” powered by the Mother Box alien technology, but was assisted by the Pre-Flashpoint Superman. Confused? Just to make it short and brief for those who didn’t caught up with rebirth. The Superman from New 52 had died “in the last days of Superman” and this Clark Kent is from the world where ‘he died’ when DC Comics killed him through the appearance of Doomsday that was drawn by Dan Jurgens in 1992.

08.15.2016 – Stephen Segovia has been in the comicbook industry and has garnered acclaimed for his works with DC Comics and Marvel. Based in the Philippines Stephen is like any average fan who is in to reading comics. He joins his fellow artists Carlo Pagulayan and Michael Jason Paz last Saturday for a special DC Comics signing which launched the titles Deathstroke and Segovia’s debut in Action Comics #961 as one of the three rotating artists assigned at the flash ship Superman book that returned to its original numbering after New 52.

02.02.2016 – “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” won’t be out until March, but you’ll find that there are merchandise that’s coming out. Promotional items featuring the trinity are already available at all Petron petrol stations for a minimum fuel up. But when it comes to the action figures it seems JADA toys are the one producing action figures for their Die Cast Metals line and they where sighted in one of the local retail store.

Man of Steel DVD & Blu-ray Sighted!

10.29.2013 – Man of Steel release for the home edition via DVD and Blu-ray has arrived in the Philippines. The Asian release edition of the blockbuster hit from DC Entertainment was sighted at local shops available at Region 3 format. What arrived are the DVD & Blu-ray Gift Set with limited Superman and General Zod 1/16 scale figurines from DC Collectibles which are sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios. For the high end movie enthusiasts is the 3D Limited Collector’s Edition which features a metal ‘S’ complete with stand.

Superman 75th Anniversary Animated Short!

10.16.2013 – It’s been 75 years and the first ever superhero celebrates his milestone. The popular character created by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel who first appeared in Action Comics #1 takes flight with this DC animated short. This particular animation was directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) and Bruce Timm (Superman: The Animated Series) collaborate which was also produced by Warner Bros. Animation!

Clash of the Champions: DC Heroes VS MOTU!

09.02.2013 – It’s no big secret but if you grew up in the 1980s and have seen He-Man and the Master of the Universe on television chances your familiar with the current iteration of the comic book series as well as the toys that came with it. MOTU fans have been supporting the toy line since interested started in the early 2000s that produced a new TV series by Mike Young productions that ended quickly similar to the new Thundercats. But the interest never died that DC Comics published a new series.

07.21.2013 – Maybe it must be too much to absorb what went down when Zach Snyder the director of the recently released Man of Steel film that brought back Superman to the status quo of fandom. The man behind 300 and Sucker Punch drop in an announced. Of course you have to be there physically to have that “feel” of his presence and thousands of miles away it was never been the same. You must be thinking if this was all too real to keep up. Sure there were a lot of things to take in but hey this is Zack Snyder who also directed The Watchmen but Man of Steel was a different animal.

DC Unlimited: New 52 Superman!

06.14.2013 – The DC Universe Classic was the answer to Marvel’s popular toy line in Marvel Legends which is still coming out with new figures by Hasbro. The DCUC line was discontinued after Wave 20 which was available on retail. The succeeding line was next known as DC All-Stars but it became unpopular with the fans that Mattel abandoned. It was re-branded as two series of figures in Batman Unlimited and DC Unlimited which by far is confusing for someone who is starting up with the collection.

06.14.2013 – In the Philippines the Man of Steel is breaking records and the excitement is already building up here in the US for me to see it hit the local cinemas. A few weeks ago me and a few friends made our own version of the trailer.

06.13.2013 – Man of Steel was well received during the press media screening last Tuesday and the release of the film yesterday proves that it’s going to earn more than its predecessor. As expected the news has come earlier than expected and it earned more than one superhero can muster. The new, origin film of Superman flew off to a blockbuster start yesterday as “Man of Steel” surpassed the industry's all-time opening day record with a nationwide gross of a monumental PhP 69.52-M pesos.

06.12.2013 – The Man of Steel has been getting heavy promotions the past few days having the actors appear in US talk shows while DC Entertainment pushes the film in revealing more than TV spots as well as never before seen trailers. Yesterday it has also showed the red carpet premier live feed online and the Philippines is one of the countries that gets to have a special press media screening that was graced by local celebrities and personalities. A few days earlier it had a special promotional exhibit at second biggest mall in the world.
