The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Movie Review


If you follow me on Twitter you would have probably seen me literally 'begging' for invites and passes for the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug well it's actually because of a number of reasons- first since Paul and I are big Tolkien fans. When we were boyfriend and girlfriend we spent so many hours watching the Lord of the Rings on DVD (the extended version, with commentary and of course the special features and all the behind the scenes that come with the DVD). We also have (of course) The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey on DVD :)

Peter Jackson Shares BTS Desolation of Smaug!

12.05.2013 – If you can’t get enough of Bilbo and the rest of his crew. The director himself Peter Jackson just pulled out a Behind-the-Scenes look at how the Desolation of Smaug was made taken from last year.

Jackson said on his Facebook Fan Page “As promised…” revealing the BTS for Desolation for 8:48 minutes. There were some surprises that include actors coming aboard and what to expect in the upcoming film…

PRESS RELEASE: Martin Freeman in Desolation of Smaug!

12.05.2013 – You’ve got the Dwarf Prince and the Silver Elf previously revealed to return in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. But the story and the quest belong to Bilbo Baggins who is portrayed by Martin Freeman.

The adventures of Bilbo and the rest of his crew continue in the second chapter of this epic film in The Hobbit. Freeman gets to be in the spotlight with his character Bilbo Baggins talking about his role and the more about the movie behind the scenes…

11.27.2013 – The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug won’t be without Thorin Oakenshield, which was one of the central characters in “The Unexpected Journey. “ The Dwarf Prince was as impressive as the actor Richard Armitage portraying the role.

He returns in the second chapter of The Hobbit” portraying the dwarf prince, Thorin Oakenshield who leads a band of dwarves in attempt to reclaim their lost land in this epic chapter from director Peter Jackson.

PRESS RELEASE: Desolation of Smaug By The Numbers!

11.22.2013 – The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the second of a three-part film by Peter Jackson. Originally The Hobbit would only consist of two films, but due to its epic story this prequel it has to be shown in three films.



Desolation of Smaug is less than a month away and previous trailers have already been shown in cinemas. But here’s a nice trivia about the film and it’s all by the numbers…

Desolation of Smaug Character Posters!

11.04.2013 – The second chapter to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is slowly building up to be the film to close out 2013 as it did last year.

The latest trailer and the global fan event have certainly caught up with another reveal.

This time with brand new individual one-sheet character posters on the main cast that features Gandalf, Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, Legolas, Tauriel, Thrandruil, and Bard the Bowman that was released a few minutes online…

10.28.2013 – The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug won’t be out in cinemas until in the early week of December. But the build-up to celebrate the worldwide event is underway as early as November.

If you’ve seen the sneak peek of movies posters and the latest trailer, it’s high to trek back to the world of what Tolkien imagined for his fans.
