SDCC '11: The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

Finally making its way online after being shown at AMC's official Walking Dead panel at the San Diego Comic Con, here's the four minute plus trailer to the hotly anticipated second season of Frank Darabont's TV Series adaptation of Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead"! If you're a fan of the show, it picks up right after the finale of the last season, showing Rick Grimes and his fellow group of survivors back on the road and desperately trying to survive day-by-day from the living dead. SPOILERS are evidently present if you have no idea what this series is about, so I recommend not viewing this primer to Season 2 if you haven't watched or read anything Walking Dead related. Otherwise, go on and click on the player below to get a taste of what's going to happen when the new season premieres this fall!

The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

Just like what you see, Rick, Shane, Lori, Glenn, Dale, and the rest of the survivors return. Dissension, desperation, and survival are certainly the main themes going on here, and just when the stakes are getting high for the group, they meet up with a new group of survivors living on an isolated farm. Fans of the comic book series will definitely know who I'm referring to, so for more info, visit the official AMC Walking Dead website! Here's the official poster again below if you didn't see it the first time, as designed by Punisher and Blade comic book artist Tim Bradstreet!

Finally getting an official show date, The Walking Dead Season 2 premieres on AMC this October 16

The Walking Dead Board Game is coming!

I haven't had time to sit down and play a decent board game in a long time, but this bit of news from Comic Book Resources literally made me jump in excitement over the idea that I may just return to the fold soon playing a new game based on one of my favorite zombie series of all time!

Yessiree folks, it looks like Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" franchise is hitting the board game scene with an official release from the folks at SKYBOUND and Z-Man games! This will allow fans to delve into the lore of what has already become a vast and intriguing story about survival horror, where a group of survivors continue to find ways to survive and deal with the zombie apocalypse and maintain a semblance of their former lives... Without trying to tear each other apart. Players will get the chance to play as favorite characters from the series like Rick Grimes, Shane Walsh, Andrea, Michonne, and a whole lot more, and deal with the undead and collect supplies to survive!

I don't know about you folks, but I'm setting my eyes on this board game and purchasing it when I get the chance! I've been a fan of Kirkman's series since the comics, and its popularity has grown even more thanks to the AMC TV series adaptation that will see its second season premiere later this fall! If you love zombies and survival horror like I do, watch out for this and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the experience!

The Walking Dead Board Game, published by Z-Man Games, designed and developed by MegaGigaOmniCorp, Inc. and To Be Continued, LLC, will be for 1-6 Players and arrives in stores late summer and is slated for a retail price of $39.99. For more info on the game, check out the source post at CBR!

NYCC 2011 - First Few Guest Announcements!

Things are getting exciting for the many comic conventions which are coming soon.

Of course, the Number One pop-culture event of the year - the San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) - has already listed their various guests on their website. And Red Dot Diva is sure more is yet to come, especially those related to Hollywood and mass media.

There has also been word that the exciting DC Comics one-shot graphic novel "Superman Beyond", which will be released in August 2011, will be showcased at SDCC!

But there have been many who were unable to go to this year's SDCC, due to the unfortunate online ticketing snafu. And therefore, many pop-culture fans will be making their way to various other conventions like NYCC 2011 or Wizard Con.

Just this month, NYCC 2011 announced their Guest of Honor - Eisner-award-winning Robert Kirkman! Robert, the mastermind behind "The Walking Dead" series, will be making appearances at the Image Comics booth and attending panels. Super-exciting news, indeed!

Other comic guests like Mike Mignola ("Hellboy"), Ivan Brandon, Cliff Chiang have also been announced. Red Dot Diva is sure that there would be more guests announcements to come before the convention in October 2011.

Press accreditation is already open and Red Dot Diva is trying her best to make her way to NYC this year for the convention. Wish her luck!

It's a long wait, and The Walking Dead won't be around until sometime October 2011 next year! Look forward to it and more zombies!
