Arte Bettina | Beyond the Event Horizon

The art toy community is a very niche interest in the Philippines, and it is rare to discover a toy designer who has made it to well-known art galleries that can be found in commercial spaces. But it is considered a rare feat to be seen in these locations few would find in a standalone gallery or major art fairs.

Dondi Fernandez finally gets his spotlight with his latest solo art exhibition. He has been known internationally through the ever-growing Art Toy industry in Asia having produced his limited edition creations as far back as 2018. Now, he's in the EVent Horizon bring is new creations at Arte Bettina with his latest exhibit.

Mold Break | Designer Art Toy Resurgence

01.27.2020 – The emergence of the Designer Art Toy scene in the Philippines shows this country is ready to appreciate art sculpture in the form of art toys either made of resin or vinyl and this in part to so many factors why the collecting community has finally found its niche market with the recently successfully Mold Break.

Mold Break starts the new year with its event dedicated to the local designer art toy scene in the country that is ripe to empower the artists making an impact with their creations and truly embracing the interest in what is an “Art Toy” that has been popular in Singapore and the US that has finally arrived in the Manila.

Funko Pop! TV | Sharknado

06.27.2016 – Today begins a week-long special program for “Shark Week” on Discovery Channel that became popular since its first program went on-air on July 17, 1988. Originally an annual special devoted to conservation efforts and correcting misconceptions about sharks.

To promote the beginning of Shark Week here’s a closer look at Funko Pop TV’s Sharknado, which is based from the B-Movie that spawned sequels and the time that you’ll never get your life back seeing it other than that this art toy looks good…

12.24.2014 – If you’re into Star Wars chances are you’re excited and very much anticipating The Force Awakens, which has been much talked about during the last quarter of 2014. There’s so much buzz that the Storm Troopers have been in the spotlight again.

The iconic foot soldiers of the Galactic Empire have been known in popular culture that they have been translated into several parodies. But in the Designer Toy Art scene they are more popular being re-introduced in different forms and one of them is the Mini Trooper Boy!

7 Eye Catching Renditions of Vader Boy!

05.05.2014 – Vader Boy is the latest art toy launched by Imagine Nation Studios and Secret Fresh. Inspired of being huge Star Wars fans and celebrating the global day ‘May the Fourth Be with You’ is just the right timing to be one with the force.

The launch is just the second time between Secret Fresh and INS which also brought the popular Trooper Boy last December 2013. Vader Boy certainly was a success with the featured artists sharing their dedication in customizing the Darth Lord of the Sith.

Robotars Custom Toy Show 2 Hops to the World!

07.27.2012 – The Robotars Custom Toy Show is the sequel to the 2010 launch of the original designer resin creation by JoMike Tejido.

There are two color versions of the resin figurine of Robot Tarsiers made which comes in blank and the standard appearance in brown.

It is an independently-produced resin figure and an urban art toy based on tarsiers described as tiny primates a threatened species found in the Philippines represented for the love of urban art.
