Teaser: Marvel will see Jean Grey return (again)

The inevitable will finally happen... Again. I can't say I'm too surprised by this given her "appearance" in Avengers Vs X-Men. After all, she IS the Phoenix, and her return is one of those things that just has happen after a brief period of absence.

Reported by the likes of Bleeding Cool and Superherohype, it appears that Cyclops' ex-wife and x-Men teammate Jean Grey will be coming back from the dead and returning to the pages of Marvel Comics sometime very soon. Entertainment Weekly reported the scoop, and has also posted a teaser pic drawn by Joe Quesada to confirm that the former Marvel Girl and Phoenix will indeed be coming back. How and in what capacity though still remains to be seen. For more info and details on the story, visit the source post at Bleeding Cool, Superherohype, and EW!

DC Comics to release #0 issues for New 52 Anniversary

Come September, DC Comics will be celebrating one year of it's launch of The New 52 Universe, which practically rebooted its entire comic book universe and gave a fresh new take to most of its character roster. To commemorate the occasion, the publisher will be releasing a full wave of #0 books of each of their titles, with adventures that precede and take place before the actual events that occur in the #1 issues. Regular numbering for all books will cease that month, and will resume once more with #13 on October. As these books will detail origin stories and flashbacks, it sounds very reminiscent of DC's "Zero Hour" event back in the 90's, which bore a similar marketing strategy that aimed to attract old and new readers into the fold. Whether or not this plays into current events, including the impending 2013 event "Trinity War", remains to be seen. For more on the story, visit the source post at Bleeding Cool and Comic Book Movie.

Expect the New "Zero Hour" 52 to hit all issues of DC Comics in September!

Rumor: DC Comics planning "Trinity War" event on 2013!

It's a trending topic in the rumor mill currently, and various sources like Comic Book Movie and Bleeding Cool are reporting it.

Apparently, DC Comics is planning a major event/ crossover next year called "Trinity War", which is rumored to focus on a division and eventual battle between the publisher's big three icons, namely Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. It sounds very reminiscent of Marvel's own 2006 - 2007 crossover series "Civil War", which saw the hero community split and forced to choose a side over the passing of a Superhero Registration Act. The consequences of this event divided the Marvel Universe greatly and changed it for a number of years, and now the same may happen to the DC New 52 Universe with their upcoming 2013 crossover. Until official word comes from DC itself, consider this a rumor at best... But it definitely gets the blood pumping for fans who want to see a throwdown between the Trinity and their allies! FOUR comes this November!

Following up on that Fantastic Four #1 50th Anniversary post, it looks like Marvel is bringing the band back together this November, and just in time for the team's 600th issue if they decide to put the original number scheme back in place.

As posted by the likes of Newsarama and Bleeding Cool, this teaser for "FOUR" hints that the Fantastic Four will be reformed/ reunited/ reassembled. After the Human Torch gave up his life in the pages of Fantastic Four #587, the team was reformatted into the FF or "Future Foundation", and saw the inclusion of Spider-Man as a member to honor the Torch's memory. Now, with November fast approaching, it looks like a resurrection is in place for Johnny Storm... or it could symbolize the return to basics and bring back the blue and black tights with the "4" firmly in place again. Personally, I hope the Torch returns, and they reintegrate the original members back as they were always meant to be... As Marvel's First Family! For more info, visit Marvel.com or the source posts at Newsarama and Bleeding Cool!

FOUR, to be headed by the creative force of Jonathan Hickman, Steve Epting, Carmine Di Giandomenico, and Leinil Francis Yu, will be released on November 2011!
