SDCC 2012: Man Of Steel Comic-Con poster & panel info!
Over at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. has introduced fans to a generous offering of a teaser trailer, exclusive poster, and information on Zack Snyder's upcoming 2013 Superman reboot flick "Man Of Steel". The poster shows a full upper body shot of Henry Cavill as Superman, with shadow covering his face while the "S" emblem is predominantly seen. It's a solemn and silent look at the DC Comics' superhero, and one that reflects what is sure to be a more serious take on the character come next year.

Rumor: Is this the "Man of Steel" Teaser Poster?
Like Comic Book Movie, I'm adding this to the rumor mill.
What you see here is what's being claimed to be THE "teaser poster" for Warner Bros. next Superman reboot flick, tentatively titled "Man of Steel". After weeks of big news highlights from the Zack Snyder directed film that includes Laurence Fishburne being cast as Perry White and the first official photo of Henry Cavill as Superman, this "teaser" shows up and is making the rounds in the interwebz. Despite the somewhat convincing layout and Batman Begins inspired set up, I'm not 100% about this at all. Judge for yourselves whether the "Grounded" inspired shot works as an official tease. For more, visit the source post at Comic Book Movie!
"Man of Steel" won't fly into theaters worldwide until June 14, 2013!

"Immortals" - Heroes, Titans and A Minotaur!
Before Henry Cavill will be seen as the new Superman on the big screen, he will appear as Greek hero Theseus in "Immortals" - a Universal/ Relativity Media movie directed by Tarsem Singh ("The Cell", "The Fall").
The movie will follow Theseus' endeavours to save humanity from the war-hungry King Hyperion. If one is familiar with the story of Theseus, it involves a labyrinth and a Minotaur!
"Immortals" is set for release in November 11 in 3D, and besides Cavill, it also stars other pretty people like Luke Evans (Robin Hood), Kellan Lutz (Twillight), Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) as well as veteran Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2).
At this weekend's Wondercon, a series of "Immortals" movie posters were released, including a gorgeous one of Henry Cavill as Theseus (see pic above!).
A trailer was also shown at the panel. Red Dot Diva hopes that it will officially be released next week so that she can have a peek on how the movie might look like! She hopes that it's not all just a lot of pretty fluff with not much ...erm... meat.
In addition to these news, indie publishing company Archaia announced that they will be releasing a prequel graphic novel in hardcover in September! There are a few top names in comics who are involved with this graphic novel - David Mack (Kabuki), Ron Marz (Witchblade), Dennis Calero (Dark Tower) and Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night) - just to name a few!
Red Dot Diva is actually a bit more excited about the graphic novel than the movie itself and she can't wait for it to be released so that she can get her hands on it!
Which one are you actually looking forward to? Movie or graphic novel?

Know more about your new Superman - Henry Cavill!
We reported this earlier, and the news sprang like wildfire as soon as it hit the web, and now people know who will be DC and Warner Bros. new Superman! However, the man chosen for the lead role was once dubbed the "most unlucky man in Hollywood", but he's certainly gotten lucky with his new starring role!

Based on reports on Slash Film and Superherohype, we finally have a new face who will don the familiar red and blue costume of Superman. British actor Henry Cavill has been selected to play Clark Kent/ Superman in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot film Superman: Man of Steel, which is expected to arrive in theaters on December 2012. While he is relatively unfamiliar to most people, Cavill was once attached to actually play Superman before in the movie Superman: Flyby by director McG. When plans were scrapped and Bryan Singer took over to make Superman Returns, Cavill was replaced by Brandon Routh to play The Man of Steel.

Cavill was also one of the top contenders to play James Bond in Casino Royale, a role that ultimately went to felow British actor Daniel Craig because the former was too young for the producers of the film. He was therefore labeled the "most unlucky man in Hollywood" by Empire Magazine in 2005, and things seemed to dangle downwards from there. Robert Pattinson even beat Cavill twice for two parts: One as Cedric in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and as Edward Cullen in the Twilight series! Inevitably, Cavill got roles in Stardust, The Tudors, and has an upcoming part in a big budget movie called Immortals as Theseus. Who would have thought he'd get his big chance again by being selected once more to play Superman! For more on the announcement, visit Slash Film and Superherohype!
Superman: Man of Steel is slated to fly and save the world on December, 2012!

Henry Cavill is the New Superman!
| 01.30.2011 - Looks like we have the latest news on the upcoming Superman movie directed by Zack Snyder. They also named the new man behind the cape and the "S" Shield. He's British and let's see how Zack Snyder will tackle this new challenge in bringing the reboot to the big screen. Interesting that Christopher Nolan came as one of the executive producers, but left the project recently kept the title as producer. |
