08.16.2016 – The “Path of Doom” featuring Doomsday’s return when Superman, the one who died in the landmark 1992 series “Death of Superman” was about to settle in the new DC Universe after Rebirth is trying to balance life and being a true hero. This is the fifth instalment of the story arc written by Dan Jurgens with three rotating artists and this is Stephen Segovia’s debut since DC Comics brought back the original numbering for Action Comics starting with issue number 957. In this issue Dommsday continue his rampage all over Metropolis being protected by Lex Luthor proclaiming himself as this city’s ‘Superman” powered by the Mother Box alien technology, but was assisted by the Pre-Flashpoint Superman. Confused? Just to make it short and brief for those who didn’t caught up with rebirth. The Superman from New 52 had died “in the last days of Superman” and this Clark Kent is from the world where ‘he died’ when DC Comics killed him through the appearance of Doomsday that was drawn by Dan Jurgens in 1992.

02.21.2016 – Are you ready for the gladiator battle of all time? “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” is a month away and as previously sighted merchandise started to appear in retail stores. But that’s not enough to give you some BvS goodness. Mattel’s “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” merchandise has been sighted at one of the leading toy stores and they are in their ‘ hot items’ list on display that would literally turn some heads who are into the DC Extended Universe!

02.18.2016 – After the mass destruction that happened in Metropolis in “Man of Steel” there was a massive rebuilding process that took three years. Of course one of the substantial contributions came from Lex Corps that Lex Luthor headed. 02.02.2016 – “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” won’t be out until March, but you’ll find that there are merchandise that’s coming out. Promotional items featuring the trinity are already available at all Petron petrol stations for a minimum fuel up. But when it comes to the action figures it seems JADA toys are the one producing action figures for their Die Cast Metals line and they where sighted in one of the local retail store.

05.23.2014 – The long awaited sequel to Man of Steel has been announced a few days earlier and the reactions in the social media are mixed with excitement with anticipation. Though it won’t be out in theaters soon since they pushed it two years further it gives more preparation for its duel with another studio that’s making success in cinemas. Now that the officially titled “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” the principle photography shifts to Detroit as they start filming after this announcement…

Man of Steel DVD & Blu-ray Sighted!

10.29.2013 – Man of Steel release for the home edition via DVD and Blu-ray has arrived in the Philippines. The Asian release edition of the blockbuster hit from DC Entertainment was sighted at local shops available at Region 3 format. What arrived are the DVD & Blu-ray Gift Set with limited Superman and General Zod 1/16 scale figurines from DC Collectibles which are sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios. For the high end movie enthusiasts is the 3D Limited Collector’s Edition which features a metal ‘S’ complete with stand.

Superman 75th Anniversary Animated Short!

10.16.2013 – It’s been 75 years and the first ever superhero celebrates his milestone. The popular character created by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel who first appeared in Action Comics #1 takes flight with this DC animated short. This particular animation was directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) and Bruce Timm (Superman: The Animated Series) collaborate which was also produced by Warner Bros. Animation!

DC Unlimited: New 52 Superman!

06.14.2013 – The DC Universe Classic was the answer to Marvel’s popular toy line in Marvel Legends which is still coming out with new figures by Hasbro. The DCUC line was discontinued after Wave 20 which was available on retail. The succeeding line was next known as DC All-Stars but it became unpopular with the fans that Mattel abandoned. It was re-branded as two series of figures in Batman Unlimited and DC Unlimited which by far is confusing for someone who is starting up with the collection.

06.14.2013 – In the Philippines the Man of Steel is breaking records and the excitement is already building up here in the US for me to see it hit the local cinemas. A few weeks ago me and a few friends made our own version of the trailer.

06.13.2013 – Man of Steel was well received during the press media screening last Tuesday and the release of the film yesterday proves that it’s going to earn more than its predecessor. As expected the news has come earlier than expected and it earned more than one superhero can muster. The new, origin film of Superman flew off to a blockbuster start yesterday as “Man of Steel” surpassed the industry's all-time opening day record with a nationwide gross of a monumental PhP 69.52-M pesos.

06.12.2013 – The Man of Steel has been getting heavy promotions the past few days having the actors appear in US talk shows while DC Entertainment pushes the film in revealing more than TV spots as well as never before seen trailers. Yesterday it has also showed the red carpet premier live feed online and the Philippines is one of the countries that gets to have a special press media screening that was graced by local celebrities and personalities. A few days earlier it had a special promotional exhibit at second biggest mall in the world.

Sights & Highlights: Defender of Earth Exhibit!

06.11.2013 – The week is owned by Man of Steel with promotions from Penshoppe a retail clothing store and SM Mall of Asia which launched exclusive licensed shirts as well as having a special exhibit dubbed “Defender of Earth.” The launch of the events was held last June 8, 2013 the previous Saturday which is an open event with no admission. The exhibit features Superman from then and now including the current Man of Steel.

06.09.2013 – There’s a new set of Man of Steel action figures that Mattel has released for their Movie Masters series. If the previous set was not as interesting as the upcoming film’s character then you might look harder for these new versions of the characters. Superman most likely the common in the bunch in the first series release did not come with any accessory save that not to the mysterious “Kryptonian Key” that would largely play a role in the film. It came with the same figure as before packaged in a different pose which is chained to the artifact.

The TV spots, trailers and movie posters has been revealed where people in the social media is talking about it. He starred on the popular Showtime series “The Tudors” for four seasons, and most recently, in the No. 1 hit mythological actioner “Immortals.” Now, British actor Henry Cavill puts on the iconic blue suit with an S emblem in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' epic action adventure “Man of Steel.”

Speaking of promotions Nokia has just unveiled their exclusive trailer revealing never before scenes and Hans Zimmer’s score definitely describes a tease that will surely anticipate everyone to line up in cinemas all over the world.

06.05.2013 – The promotions for the upcoming Man of Steel film is at all time high with toys like the Movie Masters from Mattel that started showing the past weeks and TV spots making the rounds online it might be the biggest superhero film this year. If Carl’s Jr. is having their own promotions in with the Super Bacon Cheese Burger and their Cool Kids toys. The Philippines has the Man of Steel buckets treats and their own Jollibee Kids Meal that features three toys for the young ones to collect.

05.14.2013 – The toys from Mattel was released last month but for the fans who grew up seeing Christopher Reeve soar high in those original Superman films never had much merchandise when it first came out. Even Superman Returns haven’t had cooler figures when they first came out with conventions exclusives and limited retail releases. The quality was ahead of its time back in 2006 but with the advent of the Dark Knight changes happen and went up not only how the toys where made it offered a new audience in the Adult Collector market.
