07.24.2016 – Following the Comic-Con panel by Bryan Fuller, he revealed the title of the next Star Trek television series set to air in January 2017. The showrunner for its new iteration of Star Trek since Enterprise was enthusiastic with its reveal. “Star Trek Discovery” is officially confirmed as the next series after Enterprise ended in 2005. The new series not only features Fuller as showrunner he also have Alex Kurtzman as his co-executive producer to helm Discovery in the Prime Universe.

CBS Teased New Star Trek in 2017!

05.19.2016 - Earlier today CBS just teased their upcoming show in Star Trek with a logo featuring a new crew, heroes, villains, and worlds to explore. The teaser opens up when revealing what to anticipate when it goes air in 2017. This is six months after “Star Trek Beyond” launch into the big screen. The television series has been off-air since May 13, 2005 with its last spin-off and prequel “Star Trek Enterprise” was the last series not until JJ Abrams revived it with a movie in 2009.

First Contact: The Last Best Star Trek Film?

01.02.2016 –This year marks the 50th anniversary of Star Trek and the new film “Star Trek Beyond” is the big thing fans are hoping to see. The first teaser trailer was somewhat mixed due to its content that inspired another sci-fi film. But for those who have seen the previous films and television series they would say this is not Star Trek. There will be debates but like a Vulcan with an open mind some would just accept it as the way things has changed since JJ Abrams rebooted the franchise back in 2009. Yes this is the current Star Trek but for those who know Abrams would recall he was more of a Star Wars fan. When you talk about Star Trek some would be too excited not about the old films and television series, but the current one and for the longest time Trekkies would silently just accept this. Though the truth is the true Star Trek was not about phaser pistols blazing of the Enterprise getting blown up again it’s about space exploration and more about what the franchise is all about. There would be some individuals going to start an argument or a healthy discussion what is Star Trek.

03.01.2015 – When “Star Trek Into Darkness” was set to shown in cinemas all over the world the fans were anticipating new merchandise related to JJ Abrams rebooted sequel to the 2009 blockbuster. What fans didn’t expect was the toys previous line of action figures did not complete the additional parts to the bridge set, which was manufactured by Playmates Toys makers of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures instead they released Kre-O build sets!

Leonard Nimoy, Lived Long & Prospered 1931-2015.

02.28.2015 – If you haven’t been informed in the trending news Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy has passed away he was 83 years old. For those who have heard of his name and his recent roles in television (Fringe) and the last two Star Trek films, JJ Abrams’ “Star Trek” and Star “Trek Into Darkness” should know by now his great influence.

DLD Tribute: Mr. Spock Rememebred (1931-2015)!

Captain Spock has sadly indeed gone to explore the final frontier (Leonard Simon Nimoy - March 26, 1931 - February 27, 2015). At 83 Terran years of age, Captain Spock, now Ambassador Spock, finally succumbed to end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and his two children: Adam and Julie. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

We will always remember him as one of the best - if not the best - Captain of the Enterprise.

We're consumed with grief right now, but even with his death find ourselves comforted by Captain Spock's words from Wrath of Khan:


Spock:  "Do not grieve, admiral. It is logical. The needs of the many outweigh ..."
Kirk: "the needs of the few,"
Spock: "Or the one ..." I never took the Kobayashi Maru test, until now... What do you think of my solution?"

Spock: ""I have been and always shall be your friend. Live long and prosper."

His soul was indeed the most "human."

JJ Abrams Ready to Jump into Star Wars!

05.29.2013 – Everyone has already heard and VERY excited about the news that J.J. Abrams will direct the upcoming Star Was Episode VII. After that success of “Star Trek Into Darkness” J.J. Abrams is heading to A Galaxy Far Far Away. Columnist Reuben V. Napales for the Philippine Daily Inquirer spoke to Abrams a few weeks ago (published in Entertainment May 19, 2013) has asked about his mindset going from one big project to an even grander film, one that has been raising a lot of expectations since it was announced early this year.

05.11.2013 – Star Trek Into Darkness has a special press media screening last night at the IMAX Theater in SM North Edsa. Unlike in 2009 this was more of a by invitation for the press media that has calmer audience anticipated to see the film. Of course there was catered food and a special goodie in the form of the Starfleet insignia made out of cookies that literal ran out. Prior to the main screening the audience has started to form a line entering the theater.

Toy Sightings: KRE-O Star Trek!

05.01.2013 – Early last year we reported that Hasbro has acquired the Star Trek license and revealed that they have plans to produce new Kre-O building toys with Korean toy maker OxFord. They are the same company who brought in Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Battleship for the Kre-O brand. The new line was released in the Philippines over the weekend which featured the some of the familiar ships from the 2009 movie and some sets based from “Into Darkness” that are sometimes potential spoilers prior to the release of the film.

04.24.2013 – The anticipation in seeing Star Trek Into Darkness has been long overdue as Trek Fans would know that the last film was back in 2009. JJ Abrams has done wonderful with this franchise bringing up to speed with the mainstream audience. The local distributor in the Philippines was given access by the producers of the film to give the press media a sneak preview. This is not the 9 minutes that was shown a couple of months back while the film was still under wraps.

Teaser Trailer: Star Trek Into Darkness!

12.06.2012 – A few days after J.J. Abrams has revealed the teaser poster for the next Star Trek Sequel the teaser has been released on iTunes earlier today. The clip reveals a different villain as assumed by many as Khan but revealed to be Benedict Cumberbatch’s unspecified villain.



The details of the film’s plot and premise was unofficially deciphered on Bleeding Cool that reveals a possibility that Benedict Cumberbatch’s character might be Lt. Cmdr. Gary Mitchell from the Original Series episode “Where No Man Has Gone Before.”
