| 11.10.2012 – Trese the creation of Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo has had a steadily growing cult following. Slowly the series is getting noticed in the pop culture mainstream.
They grow in numbers with every book released and the series progress with each adventure that featuring our heroine in Alexandra Trese and the Kambals (twins). The latest Trese graphic novel in the Midnight Tribunal had an intimate launch at NBS Best Sellers branch in Robinsons Galleria earlier. |
The creators along with their families and friends form the industry was present to support its latest graphic novel which features a wrap-around dust cover exclusive only to Nation Book Store. The event was hosted by Karen Kunawicz with Hank Sparrow taking the photos behind the scenes. The program started when Karen invited the creators on stage talking the Trese’s ever evolving adventures.
Budjette the writer talked about the creative process between him and Kajo Baldisimo during the time they were rushing the release of the book at the recently concluded Komikon.
Budjette even apologized to the Komikon organizers regarding the surprising wrap-around dust cover not present when the 5th book was launched during the event.
Most the fans who came to the launch dressed in all black Trese shirts to show their support for the book and you can see how passionate these fans are when it came to the questions they have thrown to the creators. Of course the topic was also focused on the creation of Hank Sparrow the bar tender at the fictional Diabolical.

The real Hank Sparrow was present to the fans delight being introduced toward the middle of the talk taking Karen’s chair on stage and answering some question about his character how it end up there and what was the inspiration that made Hank become one of the recurring voice to Alexandra Trese.
Besides the exclusive dust cover as an exclusive that was released for those who purchased the book during the event got also a poster featuring the characters of the Trese series.
Prior to the launch Budjette celebrated his birthday at the Diabolical last night which was a surprise hatched by his wife together with some close friends when it was mentioned during the discussion. Hank even said that he was still reeling from the fun that happened last night and he’s getting the fans approval now that his character gets a regular stint in the series.

The weekend is almost complete for Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo that gave the fans a definite treat on what happens next for the series. After the talk and Q&A portion they raffled off exclusive Trese prints as well as five shirts.
