Prior to the screening McDonald’s representatives talked about how the Happy Meal toys got a huge following that they ordered 1.2 million units the highest for this month. They also announced that all those who were invited gets to take home one Happy Meal toy for free that was packaged with the Chicken McNuggets Meal.
They also had a short raffle conducted by SM Cinema which gave away Despicable Me merchandise. They also announced that they have a contest that would take you to Universal Studios in the US to see the film all-expense paid trip more details can be found on SMCinema.com on how to join.
There were a lot of happenings during Saturday that also have representatives from Gameloft promoting the Minion Rush game that is now available for the download via the Apple Store and Goggle Play.
SM Cinema also has the Despicable Me 2 tumblers featuring four minions manufactured by Snap Co Ltd., which most have been sold out within the event.
The promotions for the Despicable Me 2 was greeted immensely as the toys at Toy Kingdom which was previously reported completely sold out that includes the three minions that laughs, talks and sings.
Officially the movie comes out on July 3, 2013 and everything is almost gone from their shelf and demand is high. The Happy Meal toys clearly was trending during Social Media Weekend an annual event that Mashable has organized since 2010.Even during that particular event the minions where the most likable henchmen having a huge following that there will be a spin off titled “Minions” coming out in December 2014.
Despicable Me 2 opens in Philippine cinemas on 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D from Universal Pictures in cooperation with Illumination Entertainment to be distributed by Solar Entertainment.
