Happy Meal 2024 | Playmobil Wiltopia

It’s been a while since McDonald’s Happy Meal developed a tie-up unrelated to animation, movies, or video games. But a collaboration with famous toys from all over the world particularly from Germany. It might not be as popular in Asia, but Playmobil has been synonymous with quality toys that make kids tell their stories.

For McDonald’s latest Happy Meal offering, they’re bringing the Playmobil brand with the Wiltopia range of animals. “Wiltopia” is Playmobil’s latest range of toys based on popular animals from all over the world, and the German toy brand has a tie-up with McDonald’s with this special promoting wildlife with select animals.

Playmobil is not new to partnering with McDonald’s for their Happy Meal toys as they’ve done it in the past going back to the 1980s. But in Germany, it sure has happened several times exclusive to its home country where the toys were founded and introduced in the mid-1970s.

“Wiltopia” is a new theme from Playmobil, which features wildlife from lions to polar bears from the Arctic to sea turtles. There are eight toys to collect that will be similarly available for the Southeast Asian region, and it seems that these toys can be also scaled with the regular Playmobil toys that were once available in Philippine retail and other select markets.

Explore the Wild in Wiltopia

There are eight figures to complete a set for the Wiltopia theme and most of them are land and sea animals. There are no birds in this set, but there could be one or two exclusive to a specific country that may have those flying creatures in a set. The ones you see here are a set for the Southeast Asian release.

The latest Happy Meal toys in recent months have been a hit or a miss as McDonald’s has been focusing on having recyclable materials the past toys that were released were either made of cardboard or just plain paper as the reduction of plastics has been not a popular one for young and adult Happy Meal Collectors.

But the Wiltopia wildlife toys appear to be made of plastic. Some might have articulation too as Playmobil toys are collectibles that have been popular for their aesthetics and design which would make these Happy Meal toys fit into the other themes.

  • Polar Bear
  • Lion

MCDONALD'S SUGAR CANE-BASED PLAYMOBIL

This Playmobil range is already made up of 80% recycled refrigerators and conveys knowledge about animals and the ecosystem. "Playmobil is synonymous with sustainable play experience." We are pursuing different approaches to continuously increasing the proportion of non-fossil-based plastics across our range. We are using more and more plant-based materials,” explains Playmobil Board Member Bahri Kurter. The company’s long-term goal is to make all economic models circular to establish a matter cycle as close as possible.

For Playmobil, the collaboration with McDonald's is an important step in the future strategy. "In Germany, in particular, Playmobil is a name associated with quality and great educational play value." This fits perfectly with the high standards we place on our Happy Meal toys. The sugarcane raw material we’re using for the first time also makes us proud because it’s another important step on the road to a better McDonald’s,” says Tomasz Debowski, marketing manager at McDonald’s Germany.
