12.14.2013 – When you talk about Star Wars the first things the older fans would recall is either Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. But when you talk about the last Jedi it would be Luke, the son of the former Anakin Skywalker.
Luke Skywalker who grew up as a moisture farmer in the desert lands of Tatooine, who would become the hero from the original Star Wars Trilogy portrayed by Mark Hamill. LEGO® has released several versions of the character but this one comes with a watch… |
In 2011 LEGO® has released some merchandise to expand their Star Wars product line. There was a series of watches for kids and adults, but the one released for the younger age group comes with a collectible minifigure.
There were several Star Wars characters that came out with minifigures accompanied by a working wrist watch. This watch is tailor-made to the colors of the characters that came with a watch which adds interest to those who only wanted to have the minifigure without buying the LEGO set that came with it.
LUKE AS A MINIFIGURE
Luke Skywalker is bundled up with the collectible watch, which includes his green colored lightsber which was first seen in Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi. The minifigure is based from the third film of the original trilogy.
In the early years of LEGO® acquiring the license to produce Star Wars sets most of the minifigure that was released where yellow-skinned color. But that would change into flesh tone in the succeeding sets, and there are several versions of the “Return of the Jedi” Luke that came out.
The earlier version of the watch was released in 2007 with a different packaging, but there was no difference as it’s the same one that came out in 2011. There are atleast 8 versions of the “Jedi Knight Luke” that was released throughout the years. This version was released under the “Star Wars Time” collection.
CONNECT AND BUILD
The main theme of the “Star Wars Time” collection is the watch with interconnecting watchband. The pieces include black, blue, white, and translucent green colors that you connect together to build the watchband. There 36 pieces including the minifigure to assemble and build which gives a few minutes of your time to put this together
You build the watchband in any pattern and size you want. Add the studded bezel and minifigure, and you're ready to tell time the LEGO® Star Wars™ way. It’s an interesting concept for LEGO® to expand their product line that has magnets and key chains too.
IT’S TIME TO BE A JEDI
Overall for a few minutes of your time putting the watch together is great to have LEGO® Star Wars™ as the theme. Now you can just look at the time and see Luke Skywalker not to miss seeing him in action in Return of the Jedi.
Anticipating Luke Skywalker to return in Star Wars Episode VII won’t be happening until 2015. For now enjoy and re-live his adventures as a LEGO® minifigure in videogames or just merely looking at the time.
