Vinyl on Vinyl + Gary Baseman!

03.09.2014 – Gary Baseman is a well known contemporary artist who has built an impressive body of work in various creative fields, including illustration, fine art, toy design, and animation.

His aesthetic style combines iconic pop art images, pre- and post-war vintage motifs, cross-cultural mythology and literary and psychological archetypes.

This is Baseman’s first trip to the Philippines and his debut show at Vinyl on Vinyl.


Baseman was previously one of the biggest guests at the 2009 Singapore Toy, Games, and Comic Convention along with Tang Eng Huat, Joe Ledbetter, and Brian Bolland. His art is frequently associated with the lowbrow pop movement, also known as pop surrealism. He is popularly associated with his creation Toby depicted in his updates through his Facebook and Twitter.

His first solo show in the Philippines entitled “Come Play With Us Or Else” featured new works and a lot of visitors who greeted him when everyone stood in line. Gary Baseman signed and sketched his way welcoming fans at the Vinyl on Vinyl art gallery.

“Come Play With Us Or Else” exhibit will run for two weeks and you can visit the actual works at Vinyl on Vinyl located inside The Collective located in Malugay st., Makati City.
